  1. Recently noticed heaters blowing cold on idle. Coolant was low and took over a litre to top up. Checked for leaks around rad area which is suppose to be the most common. Came across this plate on the block behind the alternator. Appears to be a "cold" leak. Got one from lexus for €10. No seal so some Dirko sealant and good to go. Worth checking out if yours is losing coolant
  2. Done a zero point calibration by bridging out obd port. Seemed to work. 200 miles and no light.
  3. Just got a 2005 ls430. 100k miles. Intermittently the check vsc message and abs light come on. It only seems to happen at slow speed I.e turning in a car park. Switch ign off and start back up and the message and lights go off. Might not happen for a day or two. Any ideas?
  4. It is located under the inlet manifold. Manifold has to come off.
  5. Everything was spotless under the wheel arch Hope it stays that way lol . Wasnt even a layer of dust. Keep note of all screws and clips so they go back the same way.
  6. Had an annoying buzzing noise every now and again and traced it to the suspension compressor. Required the removal of the drivers side inner wheel arch which is well secured on. 3 Bushes are easy to get. 2 with 10mm socket and one with 10mm spanner. A little soap and they slid in. Heres a few pics and the part number. Very cheap from lexus themselves.
  7. Thanks to everyone for posting. Plenty of info out there. Ill let ya's know if/when i purchase. I like how they look. Was happy with the drive in one. Thanks again.
  8. True but couple of jobs need doing. Sat nav screen blank, rad leak , steering column adjusting motor went. She needs tyres and motor tax (motor tax in ireland aint cheap) plus when you get the bug to change its hard to shake it off.
  9. Thanks for that info. Think ill go ahead with it. After having a 400 then a 430 its the next logical step.
  10. Hi. Thinking of changing my 04 ls430 to a 07 ls460. Any thoughts on same. Are they as reliable as the 430. Thanks.
  11. Thanks John for pointing me in the right direction. I would be confident enough to tackle this job. Any ideas on where you could get the bulb. Thanks. Brian
  12. Hi. Noticed the sat nav screen flickering this morning. It stopped after a few mins and worked ok. Drove and when i restarted the screen was blank. When you turn on ign the lexus symbol shows for a second then screen goes blank. If u press the climate or audio button and guess where to press the screen it works fine. Any ideas would be welcome.
  13. Glad i did it myself. 700 sounds a fair price. Just for info the stater motor is under the manifold so if it ever gives trouble expect to fork out another 700.
  14. I sourced the tuning valve from local lexus dealer. One electrical connector, vacumn pipe and screw hold it on. That's the easy bit. You need to remove inlet manifold. Drain coolant, remove throttle body then manifold. Tricky and it took me best part of the day. I renewed inlet gaskets too. Would not like to see labour bill that lexus would charge.
