UPDATE!! :D :D :D :D all work has now been done on the oil leak and its all running ok now :P Big thank you to the guys that postted on with tip to what it could have been :winky: well with me not knowing much about turbo's..........i had put a feed to the turbo that was 3/16" and drain to the sump that was 1/2" well the drain hose size is ok but it had a kink. and it was abit shallow in one place............so i replaced that today with a nice new bit of ss hose and did not get it made as long as the last one........so by doing so i have no shallow bits in it now :D I all so replaced the feed hose as well with a 1/4"................and all is ok now the car is running very nice i have to say :D be back later........im of to play :D

I'm with you on this one Colin ....... what's the big deal? ← The big deal is when they are done thats it you will not have to do anything to them, but if you paint them you have to keep them "tip top" ie paint them some more when the 1st paint job starts to look s:tsktsk: t :winky: Lets know how it gos 4

the feed for the turbo is comeing of the oil cooler return just before it gos into filter........but by doing this i think there is more pressure from this point then there is from the oil sensor by the filter ;) could this be so! or should the pressure be the same im going to replace the drain hose...........as when i looked at it today i did see it is running a bit shallow and it has a twisted kinked at the top of the hose that i did not see before so i will replace this........and then i will see how it runs :winky: I think i need to start opening my eyes.........or get some :D :winky:

Hi dave you back then mate did you have a good one :D Matt im useing 1/2" to sump and the feed is 1/4" ;) but i still think there is to much oil geting to the turbo.................i will try the valve and see if i can slow the oil flow down............i will all so try 3/4" pipe to the sump.......put it this way i will try anything i can................. before i pull the turbo! as i dont think its the turbo...

no mike im still working on it...............from my understanding of turbo,s is the oil should pass through the turbo at a rate of about "half gallon per minute" ;) well i think i have to much oil geting to the turbo...........and there for its not draining of right.............and when it dont drain right. it starts to work its way out the only way it can and thats through the seals ;) and thats what it is doing....................so what im going to do is put a pressure valve on the oil feed to the turbo............ let me know what you are thinking guys as i can do with some input on this

Im with Matt on this,..............my car has done 100.000 miles and my gearbox is ok and i drive the IS alot harder then most, and my gears are ok and out of that 100,000 i have done 40,000 ;)

UPDATE!! i seem to have a oil leak from the turbo ;) i have turbo of and had alook i dont think they sealed it when they made it ;) i will put a pic up and you guys that know can tell me what you think

Interesting question!! Yes marcus..... are you sure it's OIL SMOKE (blue-grey colored). Or fuel (black-grey). Or white??? Wouldn't be good..... ---> water!! :o ← Hi guys 1st i just like to say thanks for all your help in this :winky: The smoke is Blue and i think i know where it is comeing from...............i have had a good look today and i think it is comeing from the turbo oil seal.............i have been out in the car today.........so before i can take a look i will have to let it cooldown a bit...........i will let you guys know ASAP if it is ;)

Please help me if you can i still have smoke comeing out the back when i put my foot down , i went for a 50 mile run today, and it is still smoking me thinking theres more to it than just to much oil, as it only has about 3 to 4 liters in her now!!

it only smokes when i take my foot of the gas.............so me thinking i have put to much oil in her ;) O well just have to take some out and see what its like

yes Daza its all up and runing now :D Boost is only set at .4 fueling seem's to be ok right now, when i start her up the boost is at -0.52 to -0.55 and when it gets to 0 thats when the boost starts is that right and then i should see it start to go from 0 to 0.40 when i put my foot down...... or will it go from 0 then 1, 2, 3, 4,.................im asking this as when i put my foot down today it went from 0 to 7 i need to know if this is 0.07 or it is 0.70 as if it is the 0.70 then im makeing to much boost and i have to say this is my 1st ever turbo i have had..........and i love it :D
