  1. Funny you should mention that Marcus as i have the greenstuff pads all round and i find them a lot softer in their braking. That has made me think will they stop HARD if i needed them to? Especially if i am gonna  s/c the car?

Apparently greenstuff is ok for cars under 200bhp, anything more and they cant cope. I feel unsure with them with just 153bhp!!

Best thing is less brake dust is definitely noticed.

Someone recommended Redstuff to be better suited to the lexus overall.

If i was you mate i would get Mintex pads, i have them on my IS and they are 10 times better than the Greenstuff :winky:

what ever you do dont go geting Red/stuff as they are best for Track! who told you they was better suited to the lexus overall ;)

  2. I really wouldnt spend to much on discs as the drilled and groved ones are a waste of time, look good, but thats about it!! :winky:

    :driving:

can i ask!! have you tryed any Drilled & Groved discs on your IS ;)

for your Info i have had a set off Groved discs on my IS for well over a year now........and they are as good as the day i put them on the car, and i have been on the Track as well.........and i have done about 13,000 miles in that time ;) , and i bet you they will out last your new ones :whistling:

nope...hes right marcus grooved and drilled discs are a a waste of money, the drilling actually weakens the discs, and serve no real purpose

and grooved discs do wear the pad faster, however grooved do help deglaze the pad, however to be honest on normal road driving, it willl be dam near impossible to glaze the pad.....unless you drive like a plum

yea i would say they are a waste of money if you only use them for road use!! but a lot off us who have them dont only use them for the road :D i have grooved front discs and std back ones with mintex pads all round, and i have to say they are very good.............discs and pads have done me from the trackday we had last year and in that time i have done over 13,000 miles

before i had Greenstuff with std discs and they was sh;t ;)

  3. will have a word Marcus...he's been busy fitting the new prolex coilovers to a car & seeing his solicitor  :winky:

If you could dave :D that would be cool..............as i can not use it! untill i get it done :crybaby:

    OKEY dokey

  4. as the Exhaust needs doing before i can use me IS :crybaby:

Something you could do with the assist of another pair of arms ............?

More than welcome to come down to my pad .........

no its ok ahmet :) im not just replaceing it with a std one mate, im haveing one made like dave has on his IS :winky: thanks any way mate

  5. OK as you lot are going :D i will come :winky:

But if he can not.................... :crybaby: i will then have to say! have a good day guys ;)

as the Exhaust needs doing before i can use me IS :crybaby:

  6. Looks like my one mike  :winky: you say this is for IS300,  my one i got was for 2JZ,  has the IS300 the same block "ie" 2jz  ;)  i only ask as that manifold looks like it needs alot more work done to it to make it fit,  wheres my one was only out by 5mm on pot 3 & 4  :whistling:  and thats why i had to have custom  flange  made.........

This is too for the 2JZ.

Wondering that yours was almost similar except those few millimeters.

When I set the center of both flanges, the hole from 1st and 6th cylinder fails about 2cm (20mm)

As I said.... won't be easy, but I already have a plan how to do.

    Call me MikeGyver! :D

I know mike thats why i ask the ? if the IS300 had the same block ;) but the opening's on your manifold are round wheres on my one they are rectangle shape -> (__), if you know what im on about, and with it being like that it all most fit apart from Pot 3 & 4 was only 5mm out :winky:

What about the holes for the screws??

    Did they fit?

If not, then I'm suggesting if they used a Toyota Supra manifold

Well... the 2JZ cast iron block seems to be the same as the 1G except of having bigger bore holes for the pistons and a completely different head unit where the manifold is fitted.

But this doesn't have an effect on fitting the manifold, as it's mounted on the head.

OK.... I will fix that problem in the winter holydays.... the Lexus is sleeping in the garage during the winter, so I don't need to hurry and have enough time for all. B)

yea mike my one was for 2JZ Toyota Supra, i had to have a custom flange made as the screw holes did not line up as it was made for , Supra :winky:

Put some pic,s up when its done mate

one more thing...........................good luck with makeing it fit :winky: . as i know this is going to be a pig off a job to make it fit, :driving:

    THANKS :crybaby::yawn:

you will be all right mike :winky:

  9. yes its Spooky and not nice. but i bet it will not stop you going out and geting a new!! car next time will it  ...............we all know how much the price off a NEW car drops as soon you get it................But you know whats more Spooky! you will still go and get a new car! knowing all this before hand ;)

If you ask me any one that go,s and buys a new car needs to go and see a Doc..... :duh: if you know how much the price drops off a new car when you pick it up then why buy NEW!!

OK your IS cost 24K new and now you can only get 11K for it, but you have had the use off it for the past 2.5 years so its cost you 13K in that time, now work out how much it would have cost you to rent a IS for 2.5 years i bet it comes out a lot more ;)

  13. erm no......

theres much that needs doing i only removed the is200 engine yesterday.

i have to rebuild the altezza engine with 2,2 pistons and crank, new rods, headwork.

build a manifold, fit the turbo, build the inlet manifold, rewire the car, fit the custom ecu, get the 20 point btcc cage welded in, fit the fuel system, fuel cell...weld in the pedal box, plumb in the brake lines, fuel lines, repaint th insides.

beef up the suspension, get the suspension powder coated, plus lots and lots of small minor things...........before the engine even goes in.

im still waiting for the aluminium radiator, intercooler pipes, fuel pumps gear reduction pinion, trd engine mounts and much more to arrive from japan and the US

    however......

    the turbo arrived today............
