  1. I've had both, I had a 2004 ls430, but then bought my old mk4 Dhp ls400 back. I bought some rear upper arms from yourself last year and got them fitted, had the cambelt and water pump done last August too, new rear brake cables and pads, discs and shoes. The ls430 is a nice car, the cabin is a very nice place to be in, but I had to get rid of it because I missed the ls400, why? It just feels better, its feels better built too, has road presence, it feels more comfortable, plus, you don't get the expensive issues the ls430 brings up.
  2. Try Brentacre and Chris Knott, I wouldnt bother with Adrian Flux
  3. Is this the one with the rear left side cluster damaged? If it is, I've seen pictures of this car, and it does look very nice
  4. I thought I had something major to worry about then
  5. But the odd thing was, the old battery was still showing a green light, but I was told not to take too much notice of that as they are never accurate anyway
  6. That's the same battery I put in mine, although it does look slightly smaller than the previous battery, just very slightly
  7. Hi, I've just fitted a new battery, did the reset thing, and it started and everything seems to be working correctly, I'll keep an eye on it
  8. Hi guys Hope your all well. So I only drive my ls400 twice a week, and it's been fine. Yesterday I started the car, it started first turn, then I had to go into the house to get something, so I switched it off, came back, tried starting it, and it was just a clicking noise, all the dashlights were nice and bright inside, so got the booster, attached it and waited 6mins, then turned the key, and the car started, drove and dropped my daughter off, left the car running as I thought it wouldn't start again, then drove home, parked up, switched it off, and it wouldn't start again. The battery light didn't come on whilst I was driving though so hopefully the alternator is fine. Oh, the vsc check came on, but then disappeared, do you guys think it could just be the battery?
  9. Yes the rear air con will stop working, that's another issue with the ls430, and also the gearbox will stop working too, unless you replace the radiator or fit an separate cooler. With regards to the air suspension, to save a headache, take it out and replace it with decent coilovers
  10. If the air struts are okay, then it could be the rear height sensors at fault
  11. Your car definitely has a timing chain and not a timing belt. But to me it sounds like a fuel issue, fuel pump maybe.
  12. Well, a friend emailed baz about his ls400 today, and if it had sold, this was baz reply : HIS WIFE CHANGED HIS MIND , NO WORRIES , I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WE HAD 1800.00 VIEWS AND 68 WATCHERS ? IS IT ME , NOT ONE PERSON CAME TO SEE HER , I HAVE HAD THIS CAR 3 TIMES AND SHE DRIVES SUPERB THOUSANDS SPENT , on brakes , pads service , bushes and a exhaust that cost over £600.00 first to see and drive will buy her , i took out a loan to buy my 1991 w124 , so now in no panic to sell cheers baz Note the part where it says, not one person came to see her and first to see will buy. Well we know Paul went to view the car, so I'm not sure what baz is on about here. Is he, dodgy?
  13. From what I remember from working in insurance, if a car has a mark against it, ie cat c or d etc, the insured has already been paid out for it, so Godforbid, if the next owner repairs it, and has an accident, they won't get paid out much as its already been paid out before, if you get what I mean, unless it's changed now
  14. Lol he sold that ages ago haha, every car he's had is the best, I think Pat must have seen another she likes, so he sold the ls430
  15. It's a cat C, not worth anywhere near what he's asking for. It needs a respray too. I'd offer him a grand, for the amount he's asking, you can get a straight ls400. I wouldn't pay anymore than a grand for it, if he doesn't accept, walk away. His excuses for selling a lexus are always the same, he comes across as a trader to me, he's owned this 3 times, so why not keep it? There's a nice ls400 on ebay now, in white, father and son owned. K reg.
  16. Try Brentacre, they insure imports or even Chris knott. But stay clear of Adrian Flux
  17. Yes I found it, plugged it in and all working. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. Just got to replace one small green bulb for the heated seat switch, I cant find the bulb anywhere
  18. Is there a plug that goes into the rear of the ashtray? I can see a socket on the rear of ashtray, but I can't find the plug for it
