  1. You do know the oem brake pads and discs are texstar, and you can get them much cheaper from your local car spares shop. And I mean much much cheaper
  2. Does any one know the part numbers for a 1999 lexus ls400 alternator and starter motor please. Mine are fine (touch wood) but I want to buy one of each just incase I may need them one day
  3. Use Bilt Hamber snowfoam, trust me, you wont use any other brand after you've used Bilt Hamber
  4. Yes he has had for sale a while now. Doesnt look like anything is wrong with it either apart from the colour not matching
  5. That car used to belong to a member on this forum. He sold it on Autotrader a couple of years ago for over 3 grand. He got the car resprayed, apart from the bonnet, roof and boot I think. Not sure why he didnt respray the whole car.
  6. When I had a mk3 gs300, i did the same as yourself, and it came up with cd2, so I thought someone had added another cd changer, I checked the boot etc and nothing, then opened the arm rest console, and deep down I saw an aux cable someone had fitted, maybe previous owner, plugged it into my phone and I could play music from it. So every time I wanted to use my phone to play music, I had to press on cd2. Maybe someone has fitted aux cable
  7. All sorted now, I took it to someone competent to do the alignment
  8. I bought a rear wheel bearing from Rockauto, make was SKF. To be honest I always buy parts from rockauto. Regarding the radiator, there is a 4 or 5 digit number on top of the radiator, that's the one you go by when buying a radiator from Lexus
  9. I've put a new tyre on, the right one had wear on the outside bit due to the faulty tie inner and outer tie rod, and then had the alignment done and checked pressure. It wasnt out of alignment before I had the parts fitted. It does drive straight, but the steering wheel is to the left, it wasnt even that bad after the parts were fitted, but I was told I had to get alignment done. Do you think I should have the left front tyre replaced too?
  10. Thanks for the reply Yes they used a clamp to hold the steering wheel centre, and it did look centre to me too, but when I drove it out, it's still to the left slightly, well a little more than slightly, it's doing my head in, I took it back, he re did it again, but it's still the same
  11. Hi guys Hope someone can help. So, I've had the drivers side inner and outer tie rod replaced, and had wheel alignment done, the car drives straight but the steering wheel is slightly to the left, but the car still drives straight, after a week I took it back to check the alignment, he said it was out slightly but it's still the same. Does that mean I should have replaced the passenger side too?
  12. Thanks for that. They sent me part number TA5844, the top bit seems different to the one on the car and the thread is a little longer, so I didnt fit it as I know the wheel wont look right.
  13. Does anyone have the part number for the drivers side inner tie rod on a 1999 ls400 they can give me please. I ordered a delphi one from rockauto but it turns out the thread it slightly longer Thanks in advance
  14. How psi should I pump into 245 50 17?
  15. Hi paul. So is okay to fit 225 55 17 on the on the dhp wheels? I thought it had to be 245 50 17
  16. Thanks for that. Yeah I cant use 16 on mine as its dhp and they only come with 17. I'll have look into Falkens
  17. Hi guys Hope your all well. I currently have pirelli assimetrico 245 50 17 on my ls400. I have a brand new tyre sitting in the boot that I bought last year just in case I may need it. Anyway, I just going through the internet last night, and it looks like these tyres are hard to get. What other brand of tyre would you guys recommend? I'm not into winter tyres as they make alot of nose and look awful, the ones on the car now are very quiet. Thanks in advance
  18. Oh those covers, I thought it was an add on. I see what you mean now
  19. What are sill covers anyway? Sorry if it's a silly question
