  1. I went down to Devon couple of weekends ago at 80mph and i got 39mpg, went to London at 70 mph and got 42mpg
  2. Oh sorry I thought you meant the vsv sensor. Yeah I'd go for aftermarket sensors on that one, the dealers will rip you off with the price on parking sensors
  3. if you do buy an aftermarket sensor, and say if it doesn't last as long as the oem sensor, your gonna pay for labour costs again, so at £59, I wouldn't buy an aftermarket sensor
  4. The oem sensor is only £59 so best getting the oem sensor
  5. No I don't think the issue with the retracting steering wheel is sorted on a 2004 ls430 as I know someone with a 2004 ls430 and his retractable steering wheel has failed
  6. a few weeks ago that car was being sold by lexuschap and huzzysal. 2 different people but they work together so beware
  7. It's not the shelf. It's the rear windscreen at the top.
  8. That's right when temp drops it stops squeaking. do you reakon this a known fault then? I went on to the us website and they sprayed silicone spray where the glass is at the top and the squeaking never comes back. I'll try that later.
  9. Just yesterday the sun was beating down on the rear windscreen and since then every time I drive there is a squeaking noise coming from the rear. I keep thinking it's the rear shelf but my son says it's not. What else can it be and has anyone had this on their mk3 gs300?
  10. Nothing different. I just drive nice carefully I never use cruise control i always use v power shell fuel and get the engine oil changed every 6 months
  11. 100% serious. I used to take pic of the mpg to show my brother as he couldn't believe it either. I never used cruise control and maybe that's why. I took my 2005 mk3 gs300 to London a few weeks ago again didn't use cruise control and i got 43 mpg. I'm going to Devon this weekend so let's see if I can better that
  12. I used to get 40-41 mpg from my ls400 on a run, but maybe because I never use cruise control
  13. Yeah and the vsv sensor needs replacing at some point too, but did he mention that? Noooo
  14. There is a gs430 for sale on one of the Internet sites and it's a mk3, but the thing I hate about that ad is the seller writes something on the lines of, although the gs430 isn't fuel effecient as the gs300 or gs450h, it doesn't have the issues with hybrid inverter or piston ring wear so before you buy a mk3 gs300, ask the seller how much oil the car drinks, yet he doesn't say, that gs430 has gearbox issues where when the radiator leaks, it leaks into the gearbox causing a fault and hence will need a brand new gearbox.
  15. I'm sure a 2000 model transmission wouldn't be the same as a 2006 model due to the later being a 6 speed auto box
  16. I do like the ls430, it's just the little faults it has has stopped from getting another one. I now have a mk3 gs300 but if I was looking for an ls430 it would be a slightly later model 2004-05 model
  17. Looks like the air suspension has collapsed aswell
  18. Eml on the ls430 most commonly relates to the vsv sensor. Part costs around £59 but labour is just short of £600 as it's a 4 hr job. It could also be O2 sensor but most common is the vsv
  19. I remember him writing in the ad that he cannot fault that car he sold you and it's got no issues etc etc, I wonder how he managed to miss the drivers door soft close not working? It's not like it's hard to miss
  20. yeah it is. I don't know how to put the link on
  21. I think it looks nice, but I think it would have looked alot better if the car was white in colour
  22. I don't think Lexus will try making a diesel engine car again, especially after the head gasket issues on the is220d. That was 1 of the reasons they stopped making diesels
