  1. Hi PPG450h Im not sure where your based, but if your near Birmingham and you do want to go ss, I can highly recommend a place in Walsall called John Astley. No I dont work for them or anything like that, its just a recommendation, they did a brilliant job on my Sc430, I remember someone on here recommended them to us as the person had an issue with the exhaust on his mk3 Gs too.
  2. Dont know what your mechanic is going on about, you say in your first post that you have Lexus Extended Warranty, so what are you worried about? Take it to Lexus Dealers to sort out.
  3. That used to be old baz ls400. Well one of them anyway.
  4. I wouldnt worry about the solar sensors. They are fitted top of the dashboard just behind the windscreen, they are only used when using auto headlights. The codes for them were probebly triggered due to time of day you put the diagnosic computer in.
  5. Hi there, I have heard some stories on the Gs450h. The fault could be caused by a failing hybrid battery (expensive job) the Chain ( you can get the chain kit from the U.S for around £190, but then youve got to find a good indy to replace it) remember they dont have cambelts and are chain drivin or the bigger battery in the engine bay. But if youve got warranry on it, just take it to your nearest Lexus Dealer.
  6. Ill take it on s recovery truck
  7. Well talking about Halfords, i bought a lexus recently that has a receipt for oil and oil filter change, cambelt and water pump replaced last September 2016, having looked at the filter, it still had the original toyota oil filter and all they did was top up the oil. So I took it to my brothers garage to get the oil replaced and filter, anyway which makes me wonder if the they really did change the cambelt and water pump, well if it snaps, im taking back there and demanding a new engine
  8. I think it looks nice. It looks a beast from the front and still has class
  9. When i had a mk4 ls400 i had the flanges on mine welded with no problem at all. But you could always go down the stainless steel road
  10. Yeah I agree with Rayaans, that could be polished out. It doesnt look like its deep scratches and isnt dented, so try polishing it first using a machine.
  11. Thank you. And what a lovely ls460 you have.
  12. Hi guys My wife has set up a fb page called the Lexus Experience and asked me if I would ask you guys if you would join the page please https://www.facebook.com/The-lexus-experience-226050807849252/
  13. Its not the most unreliable car out there, Rangerover have won the award for most unreliable car, but the is220d is probably the worst car Lexus have made, they realised that, and realised yes they have alot of issues and so stopped making them and went down the hybrid and direct injection route.
  14. Hi i think the inner rotary knob on the stalk is for the front and rear fog lights.
  15. This will be the start of the problems you will get with the is220d. Remember, Lexus have stopped making diesels due to fact the engine is very very unreliable. Wait till you get the headgasket issue. I have agree, take it back, get your money back and get an is250 or ls430 or ls460 or gs300 or gs430 etc but not a diesal.
  16. Im on the look out for some 6 9 door speakers but they have to be subwoofers. Basically 1 way speakers. Anyone got any, please let me know. Thanks
  17. Hi and welcome to the Loc The Ls400 is probably the best car I have ever had, I now drive an sc430, but the Ls400 is for me still the best Lexus ever made. Regarding the battery issue, I had the same issue on an Ls400 I had, it was the alternator, went to a company called Foreign Car Spares here in Birmingham, they supplied an fitted one of another ls400 they were breaking for £50, and job done
  18. Sounds like the serpintine belt and one of the pulleys to me
  19. I agree with Madashatter, it wont take the paint off and there are better than most brands out there, but are Nilfisk that bad? I thought they were suppose to be good.
  20. Although their products are good, their service is rubbish, and it doesn't look like they got much in stock anyway. I remember ordering of them, I ordered afew things, 3 weeks went by and I hadnt received anything, so I emailed them, I got a reply saying they were posted 2 weeks ago, surely i would have received them a week after they were posted, then I receive a Royal Mail code, 2 days later my gear came, which makes me think they hadnt even posted the gear until i emailed them and its happened to me 3 times with them.
  21. Is there any reason you want a low mileage ls400? I only ask because the Ls400, even with high mileage and a great service history can probably outlast most of us humans as they can go on and on for a very long time, even longer than an Ls430 without any major issues.
