I remember this ls400. It was for sale in birmingham early last year, ive seen this car in the flesh back then and it did look very very nice. There was one very tiny scrape on the rear bumper, but thats about it. I think it sold for £1700 back then.

If you buy all the service parts, you get the oil free. But your still getting the service parts cheap aswell.

You dont need gold membership to get discount at lexus dealers. They will give you 10% anyway, you just have to ask them. Well it works if i ever need anything from Lexus dealers. Another example is Last month i got all service parts from Lexus dealers, 6 litres of oil oil filter, 8 sparkplugs, air and pollen filter all for £92, the oil came free.

Wow £150 to replace the serpintine belt? I remember when I had an Ls400 and Ls430, I bought the serpintine belts from Euro car parts for £20 and paid my indy garage £10 to fit it on both cars.They were good belts aswell, continental belts.

Best thing to do is call Lexus dealers now, they are open until 12 and they will be able to tell you what fluid to use. Personally id use Toyota type IV as I think thats what it says in the manual, but to be 100% sure, call Lexus.

Hold on, the 2004 gearbox is a 6 speed gearbox, so is your 2003 the earlier model or later model ls430? Ps id use Toyota fluid.

What a brilliant thread. Ive been watching for sometime. I should have done one like this for my sc430. I bought it in October of last year with 180000 miles on it, the previous owner kept driving it to Austria and back as he liked skiing. It was full of scratches etc. All I got was a receipt from him from Halfords that the water pump and cambelt ( but because it was Halfords I dont think the work has been done). I didnt get no service history with it, got all the manuals but apart from service book, I checked at Lexus dealers and they dont have a record of it, So first thing I did a week later was change oil and filter, parts from Toyota, then ball joints etc, then got car the car fully resprayed, I paid slightly more than you did as I went for Porsche lapis Blue pearl colour, then last week gave it a full service, oil, oil filter, air filter and sparkplugs all from Toyota at trade price, and wheel alignment and thats it. But ive always always wanted an Ls460 and maybe one day Ill have one. Just need to save up abit. But I love you ls460. Nice colour too.

Heres a new one for you guys. If your car is parked on your drive or garage over night, your vehicle insurance will go up, however if its parked on the road outside your house, your insurance comes down. This is because a person is more likely to get their car robbed from their drive or garage. Funny isnt it. My insurance came down by £200 because I told them its parked on the road as I cant park it on my drive anymore coz my sister uses the drive for her car

I was going suggest the same thing as 39buss has. They are around £9 for all 3 mounts from main dealer and simple to replace.

It does need a reset. I did once on an ls430 and Gs300 mk3, but I cant remember how I did it.
