  1. I've never had any of those issues with both gs300 I had, but I did have the rusty bonnet that lexus replaced free under the 12 year paint and rust warranty on both gs300's
  2. I've had 2 mk3 gs300's and to be honest nothing went wrong apart from 2 things, well it needed brake pads and discs and 1 sticky calipers. And that's it. Superb cars
  3. Main problems on an ls400? Please tell us. I've had afew mk4 ls400 and never had any MAIN problems on them, only wear and tear like pads and discs and y section of the exhaust that needed welding and that's all
  4. Hi guys Check this out https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-LEXUS-LS400-TREMENDOUS-HISTORY-CONDITION/162816726991?hash=item25e8a217cf:g:lrAAAOSwcj1aPZXr Looks very nice but a bit over priced I think, but having said that, I reckon someone will pay near that much for it
  5. I think a new gearbox would be around the £3000 - £4000, but reconditioned would be around £1500 - £2000 but if the radiator leaks again after you've reconditioned the gearbox after a few good thousand miles, well you know what will happen again
  6. These are all common issues. They are lovely cars when they work but to thus day I still say the ls400 is a much better built car. Even the leather interior in the ls400 feels more heavy duty than the leather in the ls430
  7. Another issue with ls430 is vsv valve fails, part cost £59 from main dealers but it's a 4 and half hour job and also on some earlier models, the petrol tank leak. But with all these issues, they are lovely cars when they are working
  8. The water does leak from the radiator into the gearbox and it's a very common issue with the ls430. To rectify this fault, you will need to replace the radiator or get a separate cooler fitted
  9. That was old Baz ls400. The trader had it up for £3999 and looks like he's dropped the price down as it's been sitting there a while. Probably worth around £2000 but the dealer is trying his luck.
  10. You can get 36.5 or a little more on the 5 speed gearbox too. The only difference between facelift and earlier ones are obviously the styling and 6 speed gearbox and reverse camera.
  11. I'm having similar issue. Well, I replaced a leaking hose, and I'm sure I've taken air out the system but for some reason, the drivers side vent and the 2 middle vents blow out hot air, but the far passenger vent is lukewarm.
  12. Me personally would have the ls400. I've had many Lexus ls430's, Gs300, Gs430 and now sc430, but the ls400 mk4 is best of the lot for reliability and comfort, infact I didn't notice any difference between air suspension and the ls400 suspension
  13. Agree way over priced and if your gonna spend that much on an ls430, I would get the facelift model instead, but be very aware that you will get the same issues as you would with the earlier models
  14. That was £4000 for past few days, not sure why the price has gone up.
  15. I haven't had any experience on the A6 but I did have 2 Audi S4 before I got into Lexus. It was a 99 T reg in kingfisher blue, it had 97000 miles on when I bought it, I took it 243000 miles and didn't any major issues at all. The only issues I had were wear and tear issues like brake pads and discs and upper and lower arms, I used to get it serviced once a year and what a beast it was. Oh and I had the clutch replaced once. If i were to buy a German, then it would be an Audi, but manual as I do know they did have issues with auto gearboxes
  16. Well the first one is overpriced thats probably why it hasnt sold yet as it has been up for sale a while and looks very good, I remember early last year or was it the year before when I bought a 2004 ls430 with 176000 miles, I paid £2600 for it, and with that sort of millage I will assume the air suspension has been replaced like it was on the one I had.
  17. I had a facelift ls430, lovely car, I was lucky, the previous owner before me had the air suspension issue and had replaced both rear air suspension at just over £700 each at lexus main dealers and had the radiator replaced because yes they do suffer from the same gearbox issue too so lexus advised him it was best to replace the radiator
  18. When i had a mk3 Gs300, I bought front pads and discs from main dealers for £150. It was Birmingham Lexus main dealers.
  19. Lol thanks. I'll see what happens when it's put on Automatic
  20. Okay so, done the job, no more water leak and no air in system, but I don't know if it's just me, when I put heater on to warm, the drivers side is very hot but passenger side is not as hot, its warm but not as hot as the drivers side, what have I missed doing?
  21. Oh one other thing, what's the difference between red coolant and pink coolant? Is it okay to use red toyota coolant?
