  1. Every 60000 miles I think it was. On the ls430 it's every 100000 miles or 10 years, which ever comes first
  2. Hi Does anyone know what the part number is for blueprint front discs for a 1999 Lexus ls400? Thanks in advance
  3. I called Chris Knott and they were £80 cheaper than my broker but my broker couldn't match it because both Chris Knott and the broker im with use the same insurer Highway. I just don't get how one broker can get it cheaper than another broker but with the same insurer? Chris Knott wouldn't insure me as I'm with Highway anyway but with a different broker
  4. Check out this item number in eBay 132909401068 It's a genuine brake wear sensor for £10
  5. No it doesn't happen on the ls400, well not that I've heard of anyway. The ls400 is a superior car. You only get wear and tear on the ls400 like pads and discs and y section of the exhaust leaking etc
  6. Good idea. But I used to have an ls430, luckily the air suspension was replaced by a lexus main dealer, it was a nice car, nice cabin, but then, CD player stooped working, subwoofer stopped working, air con stopped working, it needed a vsv sensor too, I thought what else could go wrong and so I sold it. But besides that it was a nice car. It was the facelift model
  7. Sorry I'm not being aggressive, far from it, Its hard to get me aggressive. I'm a nice guy. But I will say I told you so and laugh at you when the suspension fails on your ls430. Then you can go back to Paul Frost and say the guys on the Lexus club were right. I know Paul Frost sells a lot of air suspension for the ls430, I wonder why, oh because nothing goes wrong with them and owners just want to replace them for the fun of it
  8. Come back to me when it happens to yours, and I'll just laugh at you. I'm not saying that they are bad cars, but apart from the engine, they ain't that reliable
  9. Have you got an ls430, if so, when and not if , when it happens to yours, then come back to me and say yes you were right and then I'll just say, I told you so. You know the huge mileage ones Paul Frost has seen, how do you know that they haven't had the air suspension replaced? Oh because Paul Frost said so.
  10. It's £700 a side. It's usually both rears that go first and yes it's very common issue.
  11. Go for the facelift, it's got 6 speed gearbox. I mean you'll still get all the issues with it for example air suspension problems, gearbox issue, air con problems, rust on both front doors, subwoofer blowing, CD player not working, vsv sensor fault, that's £58 for the sensor but it's £600 job as it takes 4 hrs to get to the part itself but apart from that they are nice cars. Personally I would have a mk4 ls400
  12. It is a common issue on the ls430 and ls460. It's happened to an ls460 that a friend of mine had too. Lexus birmingham are aware of the problem. But that isn't the only issue on the ls460, yes they have air suspension issues but also steering rack problems that trigger the vsc light on the dashboard and that's around £5000 to replace. I was thinking about the ls460 myself but chose to stick with my ls400
  13. I've always been right about Adrian flux, they are just a waste of time, even when your speaking to one of their advisors on the phone it's like they can't wait to get rid of you. All that stuff about "tell them your on the Lexus owners club" doesn't work with them. They just don't want to know.
  14. Well my one has 95000 miles on it, must be worth about £6000
  15. He's been trying to sell that ls400 for about 2 years. 9k is alot of money for an ls400. There was someone on here a few years ago that bought one for over 10k lol, it wasn't worth it but there you go.
  16. I used to work for a big major insurer and the reason insurance go up if you tell them you park on a drive or garage is because they think someone will break into your house for the keys and take your car. Also if your car is red, insurance premium go up and that's because they say it attracts thieves. I wouldn't bother with Adrian flux, they are not cheap and sometimes they won't bother insuring you. I went with brentacre but another good one is Chris Knott.
  17. Those are the places it rusts. It also rusts on the boot above the number plate
  18. There's a nice white mk4 import ls400 for sale on eBay. I had an import mk4 ls400 some years ago and yes it had air suspension but I didn't have any issues with it. But you will get issues with an ls430, although the ls430 is a nice car, it's not trouble free at all, there's a whole list of issues the ls430 has including rust on the front doors. I'd stick with an ls400 unless you buy an ls430 of someone who has addressed the issues they come with.
  19. I saw that car on eBay and thought wow. She is a beauty. Your lucky as it doesn't have air shocks. I think the only thing you will need to do is replace the radiator if it hasn't already been replaced. The coolant from it starts to leak into the gearbox causing failure. I think the guy who sold you this one also has a dark coloured celsior but that has air suspension but it still looks nice
  20. I bought the timing belt from Lexus dealers and got my garage to fit it. Belt cost me £58 and I was charged £120 to have it fitted. But then again I know the owner of the garage and he kinda always gives me mates rates
  21. Oh, mine is on lpg. I fill up £38 and local driving I get 282 miles. It's an 80 litre tank in the spare wheel well
  22. I drive like miss daisy, even on a local run to work I get 25/27 mpg but in the winter it does go down slightly
