My Guildford Lexus lot quoted £250 for fitted rear wheel pad and disc replacement. Includes free car hire/isurance [usually an Rx450h].

Thanks guys for showing me where my DVDs need to placed! Can't say its the easiest place to access though! Lexus do seem to like burying switches on the underside of coamings as well as hiding the DVD player so that to change DVDs I have to move the seat forwards and upwards into positions no human would ever use to drive the Rx!

" now hark at this one, apparently parking on an incline can affect the gel in the batteries, seems the gel can all move to one end, now if she meant leak I don't know but move towards one end, whats that all about? leave the lead cells exposed?"Well when working in San Francisco there were quite a few Rx hybrids parked on SF’s steep slopes and I can’t imagine why the gel would migrate unless there was an air pocket [most unlikely!!!]BJ

"I wonder how many other RX owners are having similar trouble with the amount of rain we have had lately."
Somehow the fact that Rx SUVs are sold in monsoon [ serious rain] countries like Japan and the Far East makes me wonder if
you have had a rear end bump at some time, if your rear light seals are in order anyway.
BTW this weather is only about 16th on UK winter water levels not Climate disruption green garbage media hysterical headlines we are getting.
In the 60's 70's and 80's the Thames from Maidenhead to Chertsey used to have dredgers working constantly. Now to save the depressed mollusc
the Environmental Agency stooped dredging to 'save' the mollusc. There are about 12 million plus in UK rivers anyway but Green options mean misery for
people living by the Thames, and other wet areas in Somerset which saves the water voles and spreads sewage over the Somerset Levels.
Rant over.

Move to Guildford area and get superb service.........

Really handy info. Many thanks spurty.

I thought it was Foralkyl 2211 that did the trick? Then the ground crew remove the smashed bugs after each low level sortie.......
-
I don't like a computer deciding I have to be constantly reminded that my washer fluid is low with no recourse to cancelling the annoying red triangle..........
I use PIAA Silicon wiper blades and as it was raining as well the need for washer liquid was virtually nil. I can switch on and off many functions at will but apparently the
on board computer has decided I need a constant reminder to add liquid to the washer bottle and it proves I am a grumpy old man..........
-
Point is it overrides Everything else. As I said it was pouring with rain anyway and I was late for an appointment on a crowded motorway....... Who decided that low washer fluid was so important that
it can't be turned off! Japanese mentality or American compensation liability?
-
So there I was on a longish drive, late with traffic on the M25 heading for Cambridge when on cleaning the windscreen up came the red triangle and
the low washer fluid warning appeared - overriding everything I wanted to see on the readout and annoyingly kept reappearing........ Is there a trick to cancel this
annoying persistence of the warning message which is hardly worth the continuous red triangle!!! Especially as it was raining cats and dogs anyway.....

I have cut out/stuck little velcro pads on my petrol cap switch and the AFS, one hooks, one loops. Easy to feel in the dark.

" I have tried to assess if they move when driving but this is almost impossible to do other than on a rolling road I suspect."
Don't move the steering wheel on a rolling road! The one real complaint I have with my 400h is that those lower switch positions are not illuminated - on mine anyway

After recall work was completed my 400h fuel consumption went from an average of around 33 mpg to 26/7 mpg.
Still driving the same way so anyone any suggestions for the significant indicated drop?

Lexus offer an MOT for £49.00
Halfords special offer is £27.42p
Did my 400h yesterday in Aldershot in 38 minutes and a clean sheet as well.

Topdown........
classic! :)

Reversing at slow speed in pitch dark and using the camera as a guide shows up any obstacle long before any possible contact afaiac.
-
Took my 120K 55 reg 400h into Lexus Guildford for the inverter work and they gave me a shiny new black Rx450h to use until my one is ready. As usual an order form is in the glove compartment.....
BTW Is there going to be an RX500h coming in the near future?
-
-
Reversing camera works for me.
-
Mine is booked in at Lexus Guildford. Take it in, pick up an insured Lexus [last time was a new 450h with a purchase form in the glove compartment] and bring it back when my car is ready! Easy peasy.
Next Wednesday.

Malibu,
Went to Old Buckenham airfield, Norfolk from the Surrey Hills via M25 clockwise and returned clockwise as the hold ups from roadworks abeam St Albans to the A10 were not worth
repeating. At times the main traffic stream was maintaining 80+ mph, at others 40 mph. Returned via the Thames bridge which was a little quicker. 35 psi seems an ideal
pressure setting for my 400h and i got an average of 32 mpg for 320 miles indicated. Climate on and lights on on the country roads.
Paid my respects to Wing Commander Ken Wallis and met old flying pals - good day out made v.comfortable thanks to Lexus.
-
Identical inflator set up and I will give 35psi a go - thanks
-
If you maintain 70 mph on any motorway who doesn't overtake you?

My reserve light popped on 2 miles ago. Roughly how many miles can one expect [ at economy speed] before grinding to a shuddering halt?
