  1. there all stainless steel. do you mean chrome tip?
  2. Talking of moving the heated seat and TRC buttons, i tried today and they wont move without trimming down some pastic so i left them be
  3. Still waiting to here back to whether they will send me the splitter cable free or not Havent had it long enough to really test it properly to compare against CD quality, i mean i havent actually driven since fitting it. Im with you on that point which was the reason i got it, in term of the technology itself, but being cheaper than others the components may well be cheaper and im a bit of a audiophile myself - so will report back...bearing in mind CD quality has a much higher sample rate than a compressed file format, unless ripped from a lesser source
  4. Well i just emailed the company and there gonna send it out to me. I paid £46 and it works great. Got it from carelectronicsworld999 on ebay. Bluetooth module can be added for an additional £33 I managed to fit the unit under the centre console on opposite side of cigarette lighter (its a sqeeze) Then routed wires up and round the shifter and pops out of handbrake housing. Nice and neat :) Yatour http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yatour-Car-iPod-iPhone-Input-Adapter-12-Pin-Music-CD-Changer-for-Lexus-Toyota-/281130933020?pt=UK_Audio_TV_Electronics_In_Car_Entertainment_GPS_In_Car_Audio_Players_PP&hash=item4174b59b1c BT module http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bluetooth-Handsfree-Car-Kits-For-Yatour-Digital-Music-Changer-or-iPod-Car-Adapt-/200922893553?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item2ec7f00cf1
  5. Hi guys, just went back to the description and saw that i will need a splitter for satnav fuction. problem solved :)
  6. I finally bought a Yatour which is the same thing as a GROM if anyones wondering and when i go to fit it i find the CD changer port already has something plugged into it, so i unplugged what ever it was and plugged the yatour in and now my satnav is blank! I was under the impression a GROM type device will work fine along side factory nav??? am i missing something? i cant find anyone with similar problem suprisingly so am making this thread, And there was no mention of it in this guide i followed http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/46731-how-to-install-the-gromaudio-ipod-adaptor-in-1st-gen-is/
  7. so just to make sure, its R286 bulbs for heated seat/TRC/SNOW buttons? (+ a bit of sanding ;))
  8. Best way for me is to use photobucket. I signed up, then downloaded the app to my phone - which was free. Then when i take a picture with my phone i just upload the photo straight to photobucket and then get "direct link" which is next to each picture, and then press the image symbol here on the loc and paste the link. It then appears. If you dont have a smartphone you can still just upload your pictures to photobucket by browsing your computer HDD or camera SD card. A bit of a intial process to sign up etc but once youve got an account and its all setup it takes minutes
  9. Hi mate, i know this is off topic, but just a quickie. Is it not possible to put LEDs in the heated seat and TRC/SNOW buttons too?
  10. Seems there is alot of confusion so i have taken a picture of what i mean. Im not talking about heated seats and TRC buttons located under the radio, i know these light up. On the automatic SNOW and PWR are located on the shift selector shown below, i am asking if these should light up. Anyone who owns a manual prob wont know the answer lol, anyway ive come to the conclusion they should be lit However on the subject or heated seat and TRC buttons, when doing a LED conversion is it possible to use LED in those too? im about to do it but couldnt help but notice the picture above still had red bulbs in
  11. Is that Ironbridge power station in your pic?
  12. Not heard of hideaway GPS before, had a quick look and couldnt find much info about updating the maps, cant be bad if its Pioneer though surely, specially for that price. maybe give the seller a ring, the company you linked is a well respected AV specialist. Ive used them before
  13. What you said is spot on about the 25. Sorry to rant on about rovers on here but thoight ide add my bit. My first car was a Rover 200, very much the same in fact better built. I also vow for it. For me it was also a hand down from my parents the only difference was i didnt wreck it! Ide say i looked after it but didnt give it the love i do my lex ;) Anyway to cut a long story short i sold it on with 181k on the clock to a frend of the family about 3 or 4 years ago and got a christmas card last year mentioning it is still going strong! It was the 220SDI model (2.0L L series diesel with intercooler option)
  14. Hi Jason, you seem like a really nice chap, nice to have you on board. Blue is such a great colour i agree so congrats on that because i couldnt find a decent one in blue when i was looking! Ive also always wanted one of these and absolutely love everything about the car and had it about a year now, hope its up to your expectations.too. Get some pics up and tell us what you think so far. Is it Sport, SE, Auto?
  15. good point, actually didnt think of that :iraqi-info-minister:
  16. I really want a dateless plate! Not to bothered about my initials, would just want LEX in it somewhere :)
  17. I think ill aim to get there at 1030 then. How did the convoy go at the last meet? fancy doing it again anyne?
  18. Ok thanks for this will have a look and will report back
  19. Ok yeah i am confused. So your saying with the headlight on they illuminate all the time just like all the gear selections do, D, 3 2 L N P R. Ok so im assuming manual has SNOW button by TRC button located where heated seats are - ok, but im not talking about them. Im talking about the 2 buttons by the gear selector on the auto (SNOW is not there on the auto we just have one big TRC button) I know onces pushed SNOW comes on the dash along side ECT PWR, but my question was should the buttons themselves iluminate at night all the time like the gear selector does. Only reason i ask is i thought they did and ive had random interior bulbs go out quite frequently, but cant quite remember with those
  20. Its just like changing the engine oil. Drain the sump, and replace oil thru dip stick hole.
  21. I certainly wish it did, if ECT PWR stood for "Extra Power" Dont worry, even if it does stand for that it not giving you anything you cant do in the manual. Its basically telling the auto box to stop shifting like a grandma to save fuel and give me everything the cars got! and it works. Being a manual you can do what the heck you like and your in full control of the gears. D on any auto will always be geared for fuel economy, more so for autos that arent adaptive of course. Its really good the IS has this button to get it out of those habbits when required Anyway back to the topic, thanks for clearing this up, sorry if it was a dumb question lol, for some reason i swore they used to light up lol and yes ive had the car a year. dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb (south park anyone?) lol
  22. I thought the manual had PWR button too? (ECT PWR)
  23. OMG i know lol, had it a year now! i thought i could ask stupid questions on here, Ian said lol
  24. I swear my PWR and SNOW buttons should be lit up? am i correct? could someone check theirs for me please :)
