Only other thing i can think of is the laser is shot. You should be able to just replace the laser if so, i have in CD roms on my pc before

Hi Petay Rest assured that I wouldn't order a car depending on whether or not it had full postcode usability on the nav system, there are much more important issues to consider apart from that. I had the Range Rover Evoque nav for 18 months without problem, apparently it is more or less the same system that they are using on the new Range Rover Sport so I doubt it is "outdated" more likely just a few tweaks are needed. funny you should say that, for me if i could ever afford a new car that is, thats kinda stuff would be priority, along side reliability. but thats just me I think what i meant to say is, the system they use in even the newly released range rover is still the same system as 4 or 5 years ago, so its said its in need of a update to be up to speed with competitors, and in the big daddy range rover, buyers would expect more from the interface when in the surroundings accompaneying. Landrover have even admitted they are behind the times in this department. Im sure its very good as it stands though This is common though it seems the auto industry is at a bizarre standard atm of the more you pay the worse the in car tech will be ive noticed btw this isnt a dig at LR, i love them as a car maker and their vehicles. just stating the facts since we were on the subject... :)

Wow what a fantastic read. Some really great comments and some fantastic feedback. Just what i wanted to see, just neutral, factual and honest comments. Very informative. Ive never been in the position to buy a car as new as the 3IS or anything close to it so ive never really looked into it - but its a massive shock to me to find out car audio systems of today, as amazing as they are, do not support uncompressed file formats. Its beyond belief. Also suprised to hear comments that the 4 cylinder is quiet and refined, i guess i was wrong about the 250 being superior in that department. I always said ill never go back to a whiny, tiresome and noisy 4 cylinder, but time may tell!

Ive seen mixed reviews of the Lexus navigation and mouse pad in general on the GS, LS and now IS by the looks. Some love it some dont, but i think it depends on how technology friendly you are. This is the type of stuff ide be looking at before making a order! On another note ive also read that the Land Rover system is outdated and in need of a overhaul

Thanks for all replies. Very good info. I am taking matts approach and ignoring them, even though i did email them im not taking it any further. I did bin it, but because i was so mad just through it in that bush! sorry i dont ever litter normally! i was just so angry. I have recently found out sainsbury's have told Excel to bugger off out of their car park and is now managed by someone else, apparently after them hassling there customers and staff over this type of crap. I also had a closer look at thier signs, there is no mention of having to park within the lines but does state there are terms and conditions. Now the car park i used at the time is still excel but is away from the Sainsbury's and is technically in the retail park, its just a quiet spot.... but anyway ill be using the sainsbury's car park from now on

If someone could please point me in the right direction of a splitter for my navi and Yatour it would be greatly appreciated. I bought a Yatour (GROM type device) however i had to unplug something from the CD changer port to plug in the Yatour and now my navi is blank. I cant find anywhere where to buy a splitter cable so i can plug in the yatour and then the navi cable likewise. I just need to know the type of connector and size etc so i can at least google search what i need. I take it its not the ISO because its CD changer port? and for any of you following my other thread well it turns out the chinese seller of my yatour will charge me for a splitter, this is beside the point. Its just they are sooo slow at responding to my messages and have now requested a picture of the back of the unit! the postage then takes a week or two i just cant be arsed with them, i just want to go to halfrauds or similar and fit it now because ive got a couple of trips coming up that i would like to use my navi for.

Pretty sure its owned by excel. Its definitely not owned by Sainsbury's, but i will find that out - thanks for the input. I know i should of ignored the notice but i couldnt help myself emailing them. All i gave was my reg so they could find the record which they already had anyway.

I work at Sainsbury's part time. I park in there car park which is privately owned by Excel Parking. I recived a code 24 fee for not parking with the lines provided!! I park right at the back in a very sparse part of the car park next to a bush. So i park over 2 spaces. My last car recieved dents, dings and scratches from trolly's, cars and those car washing carts. It was only a ford focus and it was in bad shape anyway so didnt really care, but theres no chance im letting my pride and joy subject that! I also have a parking permit in the window saying i work at sainsbury's. The security guard told me he even parks in the child bays because sainsburys and excel parking refuse to take responsibility for anyones vehicles. Anyway im they want £100 fine, emailed them telling them im not paying and my reasons for it. What do you think they will say?

Funny you should say this. I noticed only a few days ago that this happened, it looked aweful. So re applied and is looking good again. It never accured to me the SRP was giving it this effect, so thanks. Will deffo be getting some Brasso or G3 then, prob before 24th ;)

I tried toothpaste. Worked ok. But best result ive had is with autoglym SRP suprisingly even though it says not to use on plastic. Have to top it up every now and again. Really give it some elbow grease when doing it

Hi about the TRC. Thats just down to the switch, because its not toggle. Im guessing you could even use heated seat switch with TRC loom? as its push in push out.... im not going to test this for you tho ;) lol

Well i tested the IPOD and a CD with same track (ashes to ashes if anyones wondering) and im glad to report i cannot tell between the two. The CD was burnt from the same audio file as the IPOD at 192kbps to test souly the Yatour audio against CD therefore used same file source. Hope this helps The ppl i bought it off also provide splitter with purchase but i didnt specify i had NAV. but they told me that the IS200 isnt specified as compatible, but i assured them if it fits IS300 it will fit IS200 lol. They are going to send it out

I know ive seen many just swap them but when i tried the TRC one has the plastic bit that sticks out on oposite side. hard to explain but will try and get a pic of what i mean. must be on older gen IS like mine or something
