  1. Itsnot obvious on mine. Only on tick over and im standing outside of car, quite faint
  2. Oh this might be worrying. maybe i should of brought it up on the LOC after all. Everything checks out including a pre MOT inspection about 6 months ago. No loss of power, MPG is normal and emissions check out. Ill look into it anyway. Comes from the passenger side on the side under rear door area like OP im guessing
  3. Talking of the clip, wasnt it a recall i read somewhere?
  4. Just thinking something. Did you have the CC on when cruising at 70 because surely it would of gotten faster before you realising it when needing to slow down?
  5. First of all mine hisses and after researching found it is normal, please anyone correct me if im wrong! but its been doing it a year now with no probs including a MOT pass. read its normal on alot of 6 CYL cars? cant remember the reason now, i looked it up after i bought it..... second of all i love the waffle, not enough of it on here IMO! :) I had a checklist similar to you also, and i just kept going back to the IS200 everytime, it ticks them all for me too, and like ive said before on here, makes me feel that they had me in mind when they built it which isnt a feeling you get alot with a car. The only gripe i have is it is bit crampt and on the small side, but i dont actually need anything bigger so its just me being picky I also had a similar experience too you actually, except my train journey was only a hour and a half. Just didnt like what i saw prior and waited 3 months until i found one i was happy with. Also similar defects, a poorly touched up rear bumper, minor rust visible on skirts and a ding here and there, but compared to other i had seen it was and is in very good nick and well looked after. Saying that Im thinking the looking after may of stopped after 2009 as thats when the Lexus invoices stopped and did need some maintenance doing that was a little overdue too but i soon put that right! Surprised at the price you paid, a good example can make up to 1500 these days and anything around the 1k mark is normally in need of attention, but 1250 is inbetween i suppose. Makes me think i wont get as much as i thought when i sell mine next year :( oh well. Didnt buy it for the re-sale i bought it because it worth alot to me personally and makes me happy, which im sure is the case with most ppl on here except for the ones that bought one new and cant face the shock of losing out! lol Going back to your car, about the nav since you have a 2001 you will have the later DVD based system that can be updated to the current year if im not mistaken, just need to change the DVD that is located in the boot on right side of spare wheel compartment. Anyway cant wait for pics and hopefully when you polish it you wont find any more minors. I kept finding ones on mine everytime i washed it paranoid i did it lol Suprised at the MPG of your MR2, a friend of mine just sold his because he claimed it was costing him too much in fuel? Anyway talk soon
  6. Yeah bought the bulbs separately, only because the ones that came with the kit were too blue. Anyway went out last night and they werent dazzling anymore but the light pattern still isnt perfect. could do with doing it properly with some of the same paint stuff HID4U use btw this is the difference between a HID4U bulb and a normal. so why do you pay triple for a bit of paint?
  7. I think what you did is the best thing you could of done tbh. maybe pulling the handbrake up a couple of notches wouldnt of hurt because it just works like a drum anyway. bet that was scary, so glad you got out of it anyway I was intially thinking what a idiot to the valeter but then realised not many cars have a clip for mats (in my experience) so maybe its a Lexus thing and hes never done one before. Wish i could see his face when you next go and tell him lol
  8. I know Ian replaced his, im sure he'll advise shortly :)
  9. With the number plate light (which are a bit of a bummer to get to btw) makesure you get a T10/W5W with a360 light coverage because there at a wierd angle. Also not to long because theres not much room once twisted in
  10. Yeah the old ones were much better
  11. Great example. And nice merc. You got good taste for a youngster, im 26 and even now alot of my friends are still driving fart cans. I like mercs but dont think I could afford the maintenence and the reliability puts me off. Ive always wanted a E55 tho
  12. how much!? Mine were £14 from Lexus dealer for a pair?
  13. Mine did when i bought it. It needed anti squeel shrims clips on to hold the pads in place, they were just clattering on the slide pin. sounded awful. not sure if this is your problem
  14. I think this and i only have 6 :( Great choice in car, my next Lex im very sure
  15. I think anyone would opt for brighter reversing lights, you can even buy additional lights for that purpose but probably wouldnt look right on a IS lol, so get some Q5 CREE LEDs for them. LEDs can work in headlights but not when retro fitted, the highest ive seen is 25w which is only half of the 55w that your standard halogens will give out. They will need multiple advanced diods with a good magnifying lens to match, costs hundreds if not thousands to be done properly. The new S class merc that came out this year is the first car to only use LEDs, so yes its possible and i think if i not mistaken the first car with LED headlights was the LS600. Anyway you shouldnt mess with the brightness of your taillights or indicators, they are designed to be a certain brightness, if you want to do it for cosmetic reason by all means, they look the business. Like ppl have said, ide recommend HID bulbs for you headlights especially because the IS's headlights are not that good to begin with. not sure why.
  16. shame for me. Being a PC gamer i will have to wait until around Feb whilst all you console ppl wave it in front of my face It looks so incredible. There is also a multiplayer trailer in addition to the one above just release recently if anyone didnt know I also love how its big the map is gonna be! the amount of mini games and the car modding is going to be on a new level. Not to mention its going to be the most nonelinier GTA yet (trying not to spoil to much for those of you that like a fresh approach) lol
  17. No i was merely giving you respect for running a car that does less than average MPG whilst stating the latter refuse too regardless of affordability (most of the time). Its what i love about the LOC, were all very like minded when it comes to cars :) Anyway good point there about fuel costs against the cost of a car. all has to be accounted for
  18. Dont want bulbs just 2x balasts :)
  19. Stopped smoking now lol whatever was burning has burnt. Looks loads better now
  20. My old caliper looked beyond repair, it was a mess and looked ready for the bin. Maybe if i stripped it and cleaned everything it would of worked again who knows. I did try greasing everything up but that only lasted a week. Is it easy to refurb your own caliper? bet its a bummer to get the pistons out and i dont think you can buy replacement pistons
  21. Sorry Stu i wasnt saying you said that, its my opinion ;) lol Everyone i know who drive diesels etc (cars designed for economy) have plenty enough money to run a car like ours but just choose not too, im not saying its a bad or good thing it just means ppl in this county arent very car loving like countrys like USA, China, Aus etc. just a thought
