  1. ^ I'm 6'2, and I just about clear the headlining. To be fair though, I only just clear the headlining in my Transit too!
  2. I answered this already in your other thread - the TTE supercharger kit was discontinued years ago (TTE don't exist anymore), so your only option for a package kit is finding one second hand, or alternatively build a conversion yourself (using a Merc SLK320 supercharger and some self fabrication for fitting)
  3. For me, the £2000 price tag isn't worth a 50-60bhp power boost. You're better off selling the 200 and buying an IS300 - essentially the same car, few extra little perks, and a 3L naturally aspirated Supra (2JZ) engine under the hood, with 211bhp and 212lb/ft torque as standard
  4. I reckon a poster on this thread would take your arm off for it ;)
  5. Thing is, prior to getting my 200, I didn't even know 300's existed. I only found that out after getting my 200 and coming on the forums. Had I known that, I'd probably have got a 300 instead, least in part for the 'box; initially I wanted an auto (cos I'm getting old and lazy), but decided I didn't want the 4sp auto in the 200, so changed minds and went manual. Then decided I might as well get the Sport cos of the few spec items above the SE (lower suspension, spoiler, shiny bits inside, LSD, etc). Knowing now that the IS300 came with all that, PLUS a proper/better auto box (with tiptronic!) and more power? Fools rush in....... Even so, I love my 200 - but I might not keep it as long as I intended to, and switch up to a 300 if one comes along that I really like and can afford...
  6. You can't - it was discontinued years ago. Every now and again they come up for sale second hand, and cost about £2,000
  7. It's a direct bolt on in an IS300, but has different mounts compared to the IS200, so some fabrication will be needed
  8. Bummer. Would be a nice little swap out if it was a direct plug n play replacement. I don't really use MiniDisc anymore - was MASSIVELY into it back in the day, before MP3 really took off. Don't think I've used cassette since I began using MD tho
  9. Oh those - yeah I saw your thread (and the eBay listing). Not for me those, nice as they are
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Altezza-Original-Head-Unit-With-TV-Control-Not-Lexus-mini-disc-and-six-cd-/140843473537?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item20caecda81 6CD with Minidisc instead of cassette slot. What the TV control all about? I'm guessing though this isn't UK spec IS200 compatible, and guessing my Grom wouldn't work with it?
  11. That's been relisted a bunch of times; I mailed them a couple weeks ago about the kit and the wheels and they were already sold :(
  12. I work for the AA, so cover is sorted ;) But I wouldn't be calling anyone out for a puncture - at least if I could avoid it!
  13. Plus in the 300 you get full leather (although I like the half leather myself), and the coveted OEM front armrest. On paper the 300 is fully the better car, and I'd suspect in real life it is too; 211bhp, 212lb/ft torque = over a second faster to 62 than the manual IS200 (a full three seconds faster than the IS200 automatic!), 9mph higher top end, looks the same as the 200 bar the clear front headlight/indicator, 5 speed auto with tip tronic instead of 6sp manual or 4sp auto of the 200, along with the full leather and armrest inside, speed sensitive power steering, HID headlights as standard, "photochromic" (auto anti-glare) rear view mirrors, vehicle stability control (VSC) Makes me wanna switch up to a 300!!!
  14. So glad my IS200 had plain old stick on badges with no pegs!
  15. Did they even get manuals though? I'd have thought they were FAR to lazy to select gears themselves! lol
  16. All paid up this morning, and now it's winging it's way to Ireland - result
  17. There's another blue front TTE bumper on there! This time in Worcs; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271050411055?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I'd be tempted to have this one myself, but it's too far to go get (about 300miles round trip for me)
  18. Unless someone's gearbox is shagged, I don't get why anyone wouldn't realise they've selected reverse instead of first. There's a noticeable "sticking gate" to the left of where first is, to get into reverse
  19. Yeah, I've been trying to get one (oem armrest) for a while, but some of them go for silly money. Just got one for £100 with all the bits. Just gotta wait till next week to get it and fit it! Ive seen the stilo mod one, but I'd rather have the OEM really. £100 is good for one, but still one heck of a price tag for an armrest! Guy did get back to me about the nav, and I've sent a PayPal request. Just waiting for it to complete now! Woot!
  20. Nah it's not made it's reserve yet (£120) but someone mailed me saying they want it, so I'm waiting for them to send me their paypal info so I can send them an invoice for it. Hopefully they'll get back to me, as I've just bought a front armrest, and could do with the money!! I've read that WinCE will run TomTom Navigator software, but I think it's pretty old now, and not as many map updates as the stand alone TomTom units. What I'd REALLY want is a way to clone a current TomTom and run it on a generic GPS, but now you're talking crazy hacks, that I'm not even sure are possible!
  21. I've still driven mine in decent rain yet, since changing to some el cheapo flat aero blades, picked up on ebay for under £6 - but they do a good job so far when jetting the screen :D But yeah, doddle to fit
  22. ^ Hopefully by early next week, I'll have solved that last one ;) (I don't get a clunking noise when braking, but it's strange that it does "thud" a little when you change up the gears)
  23. Wow, don't think I've ever seen a header tank built into a rad before - even my little Rover 200 had a separate res!
