  1. Which is why it isn't an IS300 Sport. I have to ask you then, if you know it wasn't officially labelled and sold by Lexus as an IS300 SPORT, why do you insist your car is an IS300 SPORT? Which is why it's a Subaru Legacy Spec B, and not a Subaru Legacy Sport. It's a very, VERY simple thing to understand.
  2. LOL :D (you don't have an IS300 Sport btw)
  3. A few things come to mind; - A manual gearbox option. - Sports seats. - Brakes that were of a higher spec than a lesser model. You won't find 320i brakes on a 330i but that's exactly the case on the Lexus. A point worth noting, and something knobby touched on before, is about spec higher than on a lesser model. I would be very interested for Gary to please explain what other IS300 he's comparing the spec of his car to? Because there isn't an IS300 model that's lower than his...
  4. We're not debating if it's a SPORTY car or not, we're debating it's an IS300 Sport. Which is isn't. Because that's not it's name. I don't understand why you can't comprehend this? It's really simple. There's 5 models of IS200; IS200 S, IS200 SE, IS200 Sport, IS200 LE (might be SE LE, not 100%), and Sport Cross. There's 3 models of IS300; IS300, IS300 SE and IS300 Sport Cross. There is no IS300 Sport. And I wouldn't race a Lamborghini Gallardo off the lights, because I'm not a child.
  5. That's right. And that's why it's not an IS300 Sport. It's an IS300. Simple
  6. No, all those ingredients, as you put them, are standard equipment on the IS300. Which doesn't mean it's an IS300 Sport. It's not - in fact it's a base model. Other than the Sport Cross estate, there were only two IS300's offered here in the UK; the IS300 and the IS300 LE, so with the LE being the higher model, that means the IS300 was the base model. Either way, you don't have an IS300 Sport, because there is no such thing. Just because you want to name it so, doesn't mean it is so. I could insist on naming you Gary, but that doesn't mean it's your name, does it Gary?
  7. Fairly rudimentary, but thought it worth an ask anyway - I'm gonna be swapping wheels over soon, and I really don't want to do one at a time, so where's the best place on the front, and on the back, to jack it up (using a trolley jack, not the scissor jack) to get the car up so both the front wheels, and then both the rear wheels, can be done at the same time?
  8. Ahh, I see! Strange thing for a spammer to do though - they/it usually just starts new threads in every forum!
  9. No, they didn't. The only two variations of IS300 (saloons) were the IS300 and the IS300 LE (Limited Edition). To be fair, I don't actually know what the LE got over the standard model (you could call the IS300 the "base" model in that respect), or maybe it was to just jazz up the name a little before the new model was launched. There was of course the IS300 Sport Cross, but that was an estate, not a saloon (sedan if we're using American terminology - lord knows why we would be, mind)
  10. Mine was good before I went, but I went anyway, if just to make sure I wasn't gonna prematurely, or unevenly, wear my tyres. But it's even better since going there - they do know their stuff! I'll be going back again for a check up at some point
  11. I think it's a joke, not spam... But why did you bump a thread from 2003?!?!
  12. How do you mean "dyno tested", David?
  13. No such thing as an IS300 Sport. The I200 Sport has an LSD in it, and according to the spec sheet (here http://lexusownerscl.....eet IS300.pdf) the IS300 also had it (none of the auto-box'd IS200's had it)
  14. LOLOLOLOLOL :D You're really running out of steam here Phil, and just digging yourself deeper and deeper in your pit of foolishness! :D Of course the Lexus won't be a good tow car from driving across muddy fields pulling things - it wasn't designed to be! But we aren't talking about an IS200 in that context, and you'd be even more foolish than I already think you are if you are trying to turn it that way. We are talking about fitting winter tyres to a car that you yourself say is rubbish in the snow, in an attempt, a hope, or as some have stated, a fact, at making it better at driving in the snow on roads - not fields, or towing However, with that said, seeing as most winter tyres are designated M+S (which, as you're an expert, you know this stands for mud and snow), don't you think there's a possibility that M+S designated tyres might give some extra grip in the muddy fields? Hahahaha Phil. You've absolutely proven you are completely here for the argument, no matter what the subject or points are - and when your points are countered and your foolishness revealed, you try to change direction to continue an argument. And that my ill-learned friend, is what makes you the biggest fool of all! :D (still chuckling :D )
  15. I suggest, before trying to wriggle out of making yourself look exceptionally foolish (which you've already done), you read again what you wrote. You wrote "the Audi was bought to get me through the winter as the Lexus is useless in the snow". What that says is, well, precisely that; you need the Audi to get you through (be able to drive) during the winter (snow), because the lexus is useless (can't drive) in the snow. If you meant something else, you should have said that - we are not mind readers; we can't guess you say one thing but mean another. I'm still chuckling at you though - made me evening that has! Oh ho ho! What a twit!
  16. Oh it is! It's just one plug in the back of the headunit, then route the cable where you want it. Mine comes out under the heated seats button panel - and I just plug my iPod or iPhone into it and leave it there. Unless I'm searching for a specific song, it's all controlled by the headunit, and I only have to pick it up for a call (if I opted for the bluetooth kit, I wouldn't even need to pick it up for that!)
  17. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! All this time you've been telling us how good a driver you are and never got stuck, inferring it's your driving skills, but now we find out it's because you buy a 4x4 car? And all this time people on here have been posting about fitting winter tyres onto RWD cars, some very specifically about our Lexus', and myself indeed referring only to my Lexus (as I've never fitted winter tyres to any of the FWD cars I've had prior to my Lexus), and talking about how winter tyres can help with a RWD car like a Lexus (or Merc, or BM), and you've had us thinking you've been out in all weathers, feet of snow and ice in your Lexus and never been stuck (because you're a driving god) - and now all of a sudden you let slip the Lexus is useless in the snow?!?! AHAHAHA, that's funny! You're a funny guy! Oh, that has made me smile, LOL! No wonder I disregard everything you say! Ohohohohohoh, still chuckling!
  18. Not a worry - I really don't use CDs anymore; Grom in the IS and AUX input in my van is all I need! 7,500 songs on iPod or 15 or so on a CD; no brainer!
  19. Looks wise, mk1 - I find the mk2 looks bloated, disproportionate and the rear end looks like they couldn't be bothered anymore and wanted to go home. Performance, it's clear the mk2 is quicker, but having never driven one more than a few hundred feet, I couldn't comment on it's handling or how it feels on the road. As far a toys/gadgets/etc, surely the mk2 would trump the mk1 in that field, but it's not a car I've really looked into, so not 100% sure what they have, or don't have, over the mk1. Either way, I know I wouldn't be spending 8-10k on an IS250, as to me, it's not worth that. And IS200 costs 20% of that, but isn't only 20% the car...
