  1. They've definitely messed up there mate - from what I've seen written on some V5s it makes you wonder whether they're paying some chimps £3 an hour for data entry - and the problem is you only ever get what you pay for! Good luck with it anyway :)
  2. In that case the DVLA were at fault as these cars from those countries were branded as Lexus - only vehicles coming in from the Asian markets were branded as Toyota. In terms of the police they may be ok as I think they do realise about the vehicle being the same, I got stopped one day for that very thing (badge said Lexus, V5 said Toyota), and they just let me be on my way as they realised it was a Jap import in my case. In your case it should indeed be Lexus. In yours it's strange though - what else does it say on the V5? Does it say Toyota IS200? There was a similar discussion on another site I use and the DVLA are next to useless at changing the information without charging a fee as they tend to refuse they could possibly ever be at fault! My V5 just says Toyota and for the model it says Saloon - it could be applicable to half of their range!
  3. Welcome to the club. First of all, sorry to hear about your loss earlier this year. As for the car, do you have any idea what country it was imported from? What badge does the car have on the steering wheel as normally if it's an Altezza it would have the Toyota badge there, as well as on the engine cover underneath the bonnet. Just wondering if maybe someone has rebadged it or whether someone at the DVLA has made a mistake? Was it actually a Lexus dealer that the car was purchased from do you know? Or just a company such as Trade Sales or Carcraft etc?

Welcome to the club :) With the car at that age you'd probably be best swapping out not only the springs but also the dampers as they're probably on their way. There was a group buy going for the adjustable HSD coilovers recently - there were two options, the HR which are the sportier ride and the Smoothies which have a softer ride closer to stock. There are also these for sale over on Club Aristo - uprated TTE suspension with shocks and springs, although these aren't adjustable: http://clubaristo.net/forums/showthread.php?t=20824 They're the same fitment for your car, the JZS160 :) I have the HSD HR on mine, it's the same chassis as yours, just I've got a couple of turbos added :D I'm more than happy with the ride, the only thing I would say is that the HSD suspension is noisy compared to stock, so if you want to keep the car quiet you may be better off with the TTE one
  5. I think they're literally just for a laugh mate, doubt they'll be worth much as there is too much mint stuff that was never circulated available.
  6. Guess I'll have to find a better looking girlfriend then
  7. It's for when you've got dogs or kids in there mate, means you can immobilise the car etc but still leave them in the car :)

    Hello

Someone had that the other night in Internet Explorer and had to change the compatibility setting in IE somewhere?
  9. Unfortunately yes - on some models the double press deadlocks it - others it disables the interior sensors as you've found out to your cost :(
  10. Welcome to the club :) I'm not sure if the Altezza one can be done, but the best person to speak to would be Luke here: http://soarer.tv/ He's pretty much the expert on the Jap imports as you can see from his site :) How it works on mine is that an aftermarket tuner is fitted to the car and then wired into the screen, so basically you end up with another remote control. Not sure if it's the same on the Altezza as it is on the Aristo but that's definitely the place to start :)
  11. There have been people on here who had the opposite and the sensors were too sensitive and therefore the dealer turned them off completely - I wonder if that's what has happened to your car as it should go off with the window down when it's armed if youjust stick you hand in. Do you just press the button once when you lock the car?
  12. Ah you mean this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110410948715 :)
  13. Welcome to LOC :) Which GS300 is it you actually got - the MK3? One some of the cars with the retracting wing mirrors there were aftermarket electronics that would do this, some of the guys made these themselves though off a design from one of the guys on here called Geoffers. Not sure if it can be done as standard though?

That looks mint mate :) And with that sort of power it must fly - how much does the MR2 weigh as it can't be much?!
  15. Welcome to the club mate :) The Sport grille was actually just an option from the dealers, even though yours is a Sport they all came with the standard grilles. As for the TRD lip have you tried Russell in parts at Lexus Sheffield - not sure if they're still available but he may be able to help? Otherwise you may just have to get a replica, I think a few folks have got them from somewhere?
  16. That's a lovely car you've got there - it looks great in white :)
  17. I thought you were going with OJC dude - you've only been a member there 2 weeks Be good to see you again anyway, car has come on a long way mate :)
  18. That's mad isn't it. I've been to Nigeria and Ghana in the past, and I did notice a lot of places either took local currency or USD. I've still got some Nigerian currency at home but never brought any of the Ghanain stuff back with me - my boss at the time said you weren't supposed to so didn't bother! Did Mugabe siphon all of that off somewhere then? I did read somewhere that his wife has quite the shopping habit!
  19. That must be seriously horrible! How can they get away with that though, as surely all that was legal tender has gone somewhere?
  20. That sounds about right then to be honest mate, when I fecked mine up it was literally two hands for every gear (and I'm not a small lad ) It's that clicking noise that's best as you change gear - I also didn't really notice the clunk between first and second after I had it fitted but that was probably as much to do with me getting used to how to make that gear change without getting the clunk anyway :)
  21. Nah mate they just had to get this thread back on topic as it was full of allsorts.
  22. No worries mate - don't know if they're still available though, like Gord said the TRD were the absolute business, still felt like stock although a longer throw than the B&M. I loved the B&M once I'd got it right as it made the car feel like a go kart or an arcade machine :)
  23. The post had to be tidied up after it all went Pete Tong the other night :)
