  1. Items 2/3/4/5 will apply to every car on the road with any mileage on it. Item 1 check for a clogged air cleaner first then have the codes if any read. Parking brake ,check the shoes and cables, sounds like lack of use. Item 6 Have the bushes replaced or get second opinion Item 7 get a second opinion Item 8 do they mean the rubber gaiter? Corroded items, clean them up and paint or Waxoyl, replace if weakening the item Item 10 get anew tyre! All sounds a bit over the top to me...
  2. Interesting post!..where you used fine wire, would it work using conductive paint instead as supplied to repair heated rear windows?
  3. good update, good you had some success!
  4. On the other side of the drivers door lock keyhole there is a small switch.check this out for locking problems.
  5. Go for the boot seal first, popular fault. Sunroof, as you guessed check the drains, front and rear, also clean around the seal. Although can't see it the seal is lipped all round under the front edge, run your finger or something around it to pull it out a bit. Think these must harden over time and lose the fit round the edge. Hopefully other problems may clear up when the car is dried out
  6. Check the roof lining around the sliding roof is not wet, also carpets for damp, boot sides for standing water! There is damp in there if it steams up quickly! Switching on the aircon quickly clears it from the screen.
  7. Look on www.lexls.com there is a tutorial for resetting, with pics
  8. The two cables from each rear disc seem the most likely culprits, these go back to a pull rod above th prop. shaft. The rod and the cables all have adjusters The parking b/pedal should return easily, not slow, linkages might just want some oil...
  9. For parking brake, remove back discs to check shoes inside for seizure or worn out check P/brake cable for same. Electrical problems possibly 'cos the the car has been unused, check all fuses etc for corrosion, likewiise plugs and connections. Don't forget the fuebox right of accelator pedal. Why has the girl in your Avatar got extra hands I wonder...
  10. They should give a correspondingly cheap quote then! Don't hold your breath though..
  11. Are you sure its not a msfire problem i.e, loss of pwer on some cylinders for a time, causing uneven running?
  12. As above x two............don.t think you can get a true evaluation of it with no load.
  13. Trem.. have you checked all the fuses on the panel near your right foot [when you are in the car]?
  14. Have a look if there is anything on www.biggred.co.uk
  15. Devon-LS......... Is that a technical term similar to knackered? RONAN LS 430.........sounds like the engine thermostat, but this is a wild guess...... know nothing about a 430 STEVE, sounds like the fan is OK, go for air locks and engine thermostat checks...
  16. Think you need to lie down in darkened room to recover from the shock. It will give you strength in case you need a wiper blade.
  17. The big fan is fluid coupled, the fan starts with the engine but only runs slow, as the engine [and the coupling] heat up, the fan picks up speed to give the right cooling effect at all engine temperatures.
