  1. Just had a call from someone at Lexus GB who conducted a survey on my experiences of the Lexus brand and my recent service at Reading.

As to be expected I gave Lexus a 5 star rating.

I took the time to mention LOC and he was aware of the club, I informed him that the reason I took my car to Reading was because of the good feedback from LOC.

    Anyone else had these calls.

    :D

  2. its easy man,my boy could do it,air filter is about 16 quid, oil filter about 7 quid,i use castrol rs oil full synthetic out of halfords about 30 quid, sometimes with free cap  oil and air filters are lexus parts by the way.you will need to puyt your car on a lift or ramps cause the oil filter is a pig to get at

Thats why I suggested piccies in the write up. They make things easier if you can see where and what is needed to replace the oil filter.

Come on chaps, next time you do an oil change rake out the digital camera and take some snaps for us. Besty maybe you could take piccies of your boy doing the oil change.

I change my oil every 3000 miles - mine has 65k on the clock and has a charger too...... Oh - and by the way, for the £25 in GOLD membership fee, you would have saved 10/15% on your service......

i dont think things are likely to break soon,80,000 is nowt, just run in man.as long as your oils ,inc gearbox and diff are changed, cambelt etc it should be sweet,i get mine serviced for 60 quid, put castrol rs oil in,i change the oil myself aswell every 4000 miles.mine has 73000.

I would like to change the oil and filter between services, maybe one of you guys could write a workshop article on how to do it with piccies.

  5. I attended the lexus Open Road event at Syon Park Twickenham today and had a wonderful time. Thanks to all at Lexus Twickenham, Edgware for organising a very good day.

I went with a mate and we managed to drive the whole range of cars.

The SC430 was very very nice to drive with plenty of power and a great interior.

Took the RX300 on the off road course and received a demonstration of the camera and reversing aid. It worked brilliantly.

The GS430 came next and I think was the best of the bunch after the SC430. It was very easy to drive and had great performance and very comfortable.

We took out the LS430, taking it in turns to sit in the back and play with the toys, having a massage as we wafted in luxury.

We left the IS range till last as that is what I drive. The IS300 had the power that the IS200 lacks, it was a very nice drive.

The sat nav systems in the cars was spot on to where we were but gave us some strange directions on occasions.

All in all an excellent day in a beautiful location with no pressure of ant kind from any of the Lexus personnel, good food and good weather. I would recommend these days to anyone.

    Well done Lexus.
