  1. Not sure you have inserted the device ID, you should find it in navigation menu. Besides, I did not succeeded in updating firmware, will make next service in Lexus.
  2. I made a similar decision when I changed my previous 2008 GS450h with a GS300h, and even if the GS300h is far better than older 450, I still sometimes miss the power of 450h, If you don't worry for fuel costs, GS 450h is quite a fast car.
  3. Probably the fault is on some sensor of wheel speed that you can find near brake disk, give a look to cables.
  4. I agree, hybrid driving is a unique experience. The difference from a diesel car is also given by the fact that power is given in a linear way, so you don't perceive it like a sudden impulse like in a diesel where the power is (more or less) the same for a large range of rpm. Besides, in diesel you fell the need to change gear, while in Lexus there are no gears to change :), and you can keep any speed witth engine at the right rpm, or off is speed is slow moving with only electric automatically, even at almost 0 speed up a hill.
  5. Air con uses till 2 kW of power, and power costs, while ruise control tends to reach set speed usually too fast, and this also uses more power compared to the use of a light feet.
  6. Sure? I see more petrol engine ON in SPORT rather less in ECO :)
  7. Giving a look to spritmonitor evne the worse mpg are higher... With my GS300h never succeeded having an average below 13,5 km/l on a full tank.
  8. Not such a big difference, but from 250 to 160 you should have better mpg than from 160 to 250, best results NOT using AC and cruise control.
  9. Had you the air conditioner ON? ECO mode works on it too, and may be this has more effect on mpg, while other ECO difference is only in a different map on throttle pedal so you have to press more the feet to have same power; on my GS I use ECO just in long boring autoroute trips.
  10. Which was the altitude difference between the destinations? Mpg in hybrids is very sensitive to this, even if it's less noticeable at high speeds where power is used against air resistance.
  11. ... does that mean it is less fuel efficient than the IS300h? Absolutely yes, IS300h makes at least 35 mpg with heavy feet.
  12. Just to avoid false positives, give a look to 12 V battery to make sure it gives right voltage and is well connected to cables.
  13. Talking of driving at low revs with a hybrid powertrain is a bit confusing: the hybrid synergy drive is totally different because it uses both electric and petrol engine to give the power (and torque) you need, and expecially for torque the electric engine gives all you need starting at every speed and instantly. The big difference is in what you hear, because when you depress the right foot you actually set the power you want, and the petrol engine gives it at "high" revs while there are not fixed gears, so the feeling is the opposite you can have with a traditional gearbox where revs are proportional to speed; some people hate this, some love the eCVT, you have to try. About mpg, the best place you have advantages compared to diesel is city driving, with large amount of electric use and energy recovery at every light braking you make, while in high speed travelling mpg is same or a bit worse compared to a diesel. But about comfort, eCVT hybrid is wonderful, and in city driving you have petrol engine off saving petrol and driving in silence.
  14. I have on my GS, it works well with a good signal reception, but actually not so necessary. Already wrote on this topic on forum.
  15. I don't remember the button battery number (2016?) , but the change procedure is simple, you need to slide the remote cover and exctract battery using a little screwdriver on the 4 phillips screws closing the sealed transparent cover.
  16. I am waiting for next service to update navi premium system firmware; you can verify on customer portal registering with yout VIN.
  17. I found Michelin tyres are really quiet. You can give a look also on noise declarations that now are in every tyres list with other features that producers have to declare for EU rules, if you believe them ;-)
  18. I will try to reproduce it on my GS, may be it is a resonance from exhaust, or just engine gargleing :)
  19. A different tyres pressure could make the difference too, sometimes hybrid cars have overinflated tyres to spare mpg. Also tyres brand is important.
  20. Have you experienced this at a speed around 50mph? If so it could be a vibration corrected by a new calibration affected in 2.5 liters engines equipped in IS and GS 300h, in forum you can find about this topic.
  21. Where is the problem to anticipate right foot pressure of 0.5-1 second? :) Besides, I think that this lag is noticeable in all euro 5-6 engines because of emissions rules, and the effect in automatic gears cars also more because in the meantime the driver is not busy in pressing pedals and moving lever.
  22. I agree with DJP, and I traded in my 2008 GS450h, too much powerful for normal use, for a newer GS 300h. Of course GS 450h is a bullet with an engine over 125 HP more than 300h, but also with 300h engine in SPORT mode you can have fun.
