  1. Yes Ray unfortunatly this is very common. It's a long story and there are many threads on this but basically Lexus geometry/camber set up is rubbish. It causes front wheel inner tyre wear as your pics show. I questioned Lexus Bristol about this...they say the set up is for comfort, fuel economy, handling etc and you "shouldn't" see significant inner tyre wear but we all do! basically a load of BS! A company called Wheels In Motion took up the challenge of setting the car up to avoid inner tyre wear that Lexus are pretty much saying is unavoidable. They were very succesful and a lot of members, myself included have had their car geometry set up done there. it's worth the trip to see them however far away you live as they will cure this inner tyre wear 100% and your car will feel tighter and more responsive and just as smooth and comfortable. Mine felt like a different car honestly.
  2. Mine are scratched as well. 1st gen IS but still the same problem. I only notice it in the cold :(
  3. 10 owners aswell! Wow I missed that on 1st read. And I thought I was taking a risk as mine had 4 previous owners! It's a buyers market for a 1st gen IS. Plenty of good examples still out there for not a lot of money. Be patient and the right one will come along :)
  4. As previous posts sounds over priced. Don't like the sound of the cambelt. If it was done at Lexus the engine cover will be stamped like this:- Also having a spoiler and styling kit doesn't make it a sport. Sounds like an SE with a kit on it. The sport has, alloy pedals, 2 tone steering wheel, lower suspension, tinted back windows.
  5. Haha isn't everybody fella! Get to the back of the queue!
  6. I don't know where the interior sensors are sorry. Under the roof lining is all I know. I didn't have the second lot of symptoms your describing but if you start the car with the alarms going it should turn them off after 30 seconds. My alarm just went of randomly when it was parked up at like 4am! Would be ok for weeks, even months then it would go off for no apparent reason every 5-10 mins!
  7. I had the exact same problem. I took it to Lexus Bristol. They gave me 2 options... New interior sensors at £217 fitted or disconnect the interior sensors for nothing as I was having my wheels balanced. They went through the insurance invalid and at my own risk etc etc but since they've disconnected it, no problems :) Instead of disconnecting your battery just use the button on the drivers door arm to lock all doors then lock the drivers door with the key. The alarm doesn't set but at least you don't have to pop the bonnet all the time :)
  8. I watched the video of the launch. The Lexus bloke says the engines will be :- IS250 2.5 litre V6 (Dont know if this is the same as current 250) IS350 3.5 litre V6 IS300h 2.5 litre 4 cylinder hybrid And apparently the hybrid will not be available in the USA.
  9. So it's a complete A ache then! The ones I'd seen worked from the original key fob I'm sure. Thanks anyway but gonna forget about this pretty quick I think
  10. brilliant! I drove a passat once. It was 07 plate. I thought it was alright. Sounds to me like nothing is ever going to compare to your LS :)
  11. No snow here yet. Thank god! The weather app on my phone doesn't look too promising :(
  12. Don't know, never rubbed a set down I've always thought silver alloys look best but those do look good on the Sportscross.
  13. The S model of the IS200 came with the same 16inch wheels as you have. Obviously they were fitted to some Sportscross as well or were put on by a previous owner? Not many on 16's so that explains the confusion with blacktyres. You should get a set of half decent 17"s for a couple of hundred quid. The better the condition the more you'll pay. The standard 17 inch wheels that are on most IS's are always coming up. Here's a couple of examples http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2002-GENUINE-LEXUS-IS200-IS300-TOYOTA-SET-OF-4-ALLOY-WHEELS-TYRES-215-45-17-/190773683210?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item2c6aff640a http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS200-ALLOY-WHEELS-X4-17-INCH-/281046671862?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Rims_Car_Wheels_ET&hash=item416fafe1f6 18"s will go straight on as well. There's a set of mint Aero's going somewhere ;)
  14. Haha everybody wants them Aero's! Two things from the Gen 1 IS that you can still ask stupid money for and people will pay it:- 1. Aero Alloys 2. Front Arm Rest
  15. When I look at the front splitter I think I got double vision. Lol... I like the rear end tho :)
