  1. It's prob just a loose belt fella. There's 3 Aux belts at the front of the engine could be one of those. Does it get louder when you turn the steering wheel and steering feels a bit 'lumpy' (power steering belt) Does it get louder when you turn the A/C on? (A/C belt) Does it get louder when you put extra electrical load on the car such as headlights on or heated rear windscreen etc? (Alternator belt)
  2. When I got my spare from Lexus it was a 3 buttoned master key :)
  3. It's on this forum as well somewhere. I tried to do it myself. Pedal dance, then door dance. I failed to be honest and went back to the dealer and paid £50 :(
  4. Mate if you saw what they had to do for the £51 it would make you sick! Only takes them about 10-15 mins as well! I think they should code it for a tenner!
  5. I believe gold badges were an optional extra on earlier Lexus such as LS400 and GS300. Could be wrong tho
  6. I'd complain. That's £2.80 more than I paid at Lexus Bristol
  7. Your within the age/mileage restriction for the free repair but with no service history it's going to be very difficult to get Lexus to do anything. Still got to be worth challenging them. Good luck
  8. Do you have absolutely no service history or just non Lexus service history? If you have no history at all then to be honest I don't fancy your chances :( If its independent service history and not main dealer then I would challenge this as I'm sure it's not right that they demand FLSH.
  9. The second generation IS received a facelift on all models from 2009. That doesn't mean that every 09 plate onwards is a facelift model as the car could have been manufactured before 2009 but not registered until 2009. I'm not getting involved in any more IS200d/IS220d issues as it always seems to divide and cause arguments. I'll let someone else give their opinion on the Lexus Diesel. Let's just say there's a reason they don't make one anymore
  10. Twice I've heard of this completely dead problem and twice it's been on this forum. And funnily enough both times were after a jet wash. Anyway both turned out to be bad/faulty earth connections as Steve suggested. Good luck :)
  11. Have you checked the bulbs. They do tend to go in pairs or very close together. My left one went on the Monday, replaced it. Then by Friday the other bulb had gone so could be as simple as that :)
  12. Oh and Toyota Team Europe doesn't exist anymore. :(
  13. You sound exactly like me, I've spent almost as much as the original purchase price putting this car back to what it should be! TTE stands for Toyota Team Europe. It's just a styling kit sold as an extra by Lexus, front and back bumpers and boot lip. There's no difference under the bonnet, exactly same engine as every other IS200, unless it has the TTE supercharger fitted which I doubt yours has LOL! Very rare and expensive and were aftermarket.
  14. Very sensible :) Only problems I've had with mine are siezed brake callipers. Keep an eye on them, very common :( Check the three Auxillary belts at the front of the engine. Should be done every 60k. These are cheap, about £60 for all 3 fitted :)
  15. I see your car at least twice a week lol If I could afford it I'd have it in a heartbeat. Stunning looking car :)
  16. Good price then. I thought you were going to say over 200k. Regular servicing and you'll reach that easily
  17. What is your mileage just out of curiousity?
  18. Yep I lived there for a couple of years :) They even have same road signs etc... Basically they use our road rules :)
  19. They sure are Aeros! :) we have exactly the same car very nice!
  20. I've experienced it in every car I've had with tyres over 215 wide. I've got 225's on mine and when I see the left hand lane of the motorway has lorry grooves in it I move to the middle lane, shame on me I know but doing 70mph in those grooves can be unnerving!
  21. Any car with wide tyres suffers tramlining in the grooves the lorries dig on motorways. You know the ones always on the inside lane. Mine veers off to left then the right like its got a mind of its own Lol! Nothing to do with negative camber although still good advice to get the geometry set up checked. I sometimes wonder what we pay so much road tax for as it doesn't seem to go on improving the roads!
  22. Nice car :) I also suffer with the grooves the lorries make. It's turning me into one if those annoying middle lane hoggers :(
