  1. Hi. Yeah common problem this after having a new windscreen fitted. You'll find all the fuses in the passenger footwell fusebox will be wet also. There's a few threads on this problem if you do a search.
  2. Hi and welcome to LOC :) Congratulations on the LS. Enjoy
  3. Hi. That's s very low mileage! Nice :) Your right to get the cambelt done. Now unless I'm missing something it still requires a tensioner and idler. As for the 300 engine being better than the 200 well it's bigger....
  4. You must use iridium plugs, it doesn't like any other plugs. Avoid Bosch as well. For some reason it doesn't like Bosch either even if they are iridium. Use Denso iridium (OEM) or NGK iridium. As for the oil filter again go OEM and you won't have any problems.
  5. The more forums I read about this on the IS200 the more I think it just doesn't like the cold. So many threads on lumpy steering and chirping power steering belt in the winter that magically disappears come the spring then starts again the following winter...
  6. That's a lot to answer lol.... Ok... Fuel consumption is pants but as Noby said is pretty much the same weirdly! Looking at 300-400 miles a tank or 25-30MPG. I have a 200 manual Sport and the acceleration is acceptable but nothing special. I personally think it needs more power. The 300 feels a lot quicker. Common probs, sticking brake callipers, (very common) dodgy cd player, they all seem to pack up lol. Engine is bulletproof in all models and if maintained correctly will go past 200k and beyond easily :) I think they must have been branded differently in oz as we don't have sport luxury model. We had the S, SE and Sport. S being the basic model with not a lot extras. No heated leather seats, no electric seats etc. the SE was fully loaded as was the Sport. The sport had a few extra touches such as a two tone steering wheel, alloy pedals, lower suspension and LSD to name a few. Don't know how much you should pay as prices over there differ from here. If I was looking to buy an IS again I'd get a 300 :)
  7. Yeah their a business same as anybody else! People seem to be scared to negotiate with a main dealer. They want your business just as much as any other garage and they will be competitive if you challenge them :)
  8. I had it done in October just gone. The price for service only was originally quoted at over £400 can't remember exactly. With a little negotiation and the ordering of a new key from the parts department and getting them to code it I got the lot for £452! Looking at the bill they didn't charge to code it but it came programmed to my car. I don't know if that was an oversight by them or a nice gesture. Also they don't change the air filter on the 100k so I got them to add that on as well £24. I do have a good relationship with Lexus Bristol, Ive had the cambelt/water pump done there and also bought 2 new callipers from the parts department. So they've had a lot of business from me. Over £1000 before the service/key! So take off the key which was £111 then the service alone cost £317 + £24 for an air filter.
  9. Sorry Stuart, My answer was aimed at the Original Post. It really does sound like the battery on the way out. I'd even bet its still on its original battery. But yeah Stuart you just need to get used to the car I think :)
  10. It's not about the stamp or the sell on price for me. I need to know that the car has been serviced to the highest possible standard. I can't just trust any garage but that's my personal issue. I do have a mechanic I trust. He serviced my last Honda for 3 years, never missed a beat. But he was totally honest with me and said he'd never worked on any Lexus before. He did say the IS was a 'simple' car and he could do it but I just felt better going to the dealer. And yeah the free coffee and the phone call the day before to ask what newspaper you wanted was a nice touch :)
  11. Mine also does fire quicker using high octane fuel but if yours doesn't start at all 1st time, I would bet its the battery :)
  12. Pretty sure this will be your battery running down overnight.
  13. Try again, ask to speak to Nigel. I used the phrase "Is that the best u can do and he knocked off about £100"
  14. Wow!! I had the 10yr/100k done at Lexus Bristol and bought a new master key and had had it coded. Bill for the lot £412! No sorry it was £452

  16. Seriously always check this forum first. Lots of members willing to help each other out not for profit. :)
  17. Another suggestion, take the coil of of what you think is cylinder 4. Swap it with another. Reset the ECU. Then read the code again and if the misfire has changed cylinders then you know which cylinder is which :)
