  1. Loving the rear mate, just a great looking car IMO. I asked the wife if instead of us buying a new house I could spend the deposit on a new IS. Guess what she said.... Lol
  2. I'm just messing with you guys... Come on where's your sense of humour! :)
  3. Excuse me?!! I mean come on. Be brutally honest it looks like how a 6 year old kid draws a car. A box on wheels
  4. I like how your TRC is off Ray. Mine is most of the time too :)
  5. You'll get the lot inc A/C belt fitted for £55 from Lexus main Dealer :) Had mine done in October just gone.
  6. Lol no and do you know why? Cause the gauge isn't accurate. Half isn't half! I always get to half between 180-220 miles, even 250 once but the bottom half of tank drops a lot quicker and the light comes on around 300-330 miles :) Go on Stuart prove me wrong please! I really want somebody to get something like 450-500 from a tank but with pics as proof :)
  7. I have to admit the IS is a much better looking car IMO. The LS400 looks like the designer only had a ruler!
  8. I took this advice and found that even on summer tyres my car was a little more planted on the white stuff :)
  9. I'm glad it's a bit warmer. Im not convinced winter is over yet tho. I will be buying a new set of alloys and wrapping them in winter rubber ready for next winter in the spring time. I'm never getting stuck on my driveway again
  10. If you compare your LS to an IS then you will be very dissapointed. But if you accept the IS for what it is and compare it to other cars in its class then you'll be very happy.
  11. I messed it up..... But then I have no patience
  12. Nice 1 Ian. It'll be good if my mate with the altezza comes. He's done quite a bit to it :)
  13. I'm gonna ask 2 of my mates to come if that's ok. Their not members on here but 1 drives an IS300 and the other an Altezza. :)
  14. Good good :) Getting a few now, come on guys it'll be worth the trip if enough of us show up even if your not from the area :)
  15. 1 rule I live by on all cars I've owned.... Change the cambelt then change the tensioner and idler as well. Don't care if Lexus say its more 'robust'. If I change a cambelt I'm changing the idler and tensioner too!
  16. This was one of the things I was told to look out for when buying an IS. I was told if it didn't have the made in Japan sticker on it then walk away as chances are its had it's windscreen replaced and replacing windscreens on IS200's seems to cause a lot of leakage problems and water gets everywhere inc the electrics and from there it's a downhill spiral until the car gives up! ( so I was told)
  17. So got in my car today. A lot milder this morning, the car was reading 11'C outside temp. First time it had been higher than 1'C for over a week! Started the car, no belt squeel. Drive off, no lumpy steering. So the weather got 10 degrees warmer and the squeeling belt and lumpy steering have gone. Coincidence? Make your own minds up. :)
  18. You need to feed the coolant through. Try squeezing the pipes a little around the radiator
  19. The fuel filter should be ok for the life of the car. That's what Lexus Bristol told me. Yes it is in the fuel tank so a pigs arse of a job to change. Basically the advice from Lexus is don't change the fuel filter.
  20. Then I would kick up a stink! Electrics and water mixing as Steve says is terrible for the car. I had a Nissan when I was younger and it got flood damaged. Tried to dry it out but I could never get all the problems with the electrics sorted. The water over a couple of months slowly killed my car :(
