  1. When I've mentioned the LOC at the dealer they suddenly take notice of what I have to say and no longer treat me like a moron! Lol....
  2. Ah but did you get a free cappuccino, biscuits, newspaper and sky sports news on the TV?
  3. This has come up in another thread. Don't need to change tensioner and idler as the 300 engine is more robust! I, like Steve am a firm believer in changing tensioner and idler at the same time as the cambelt. Also my car is a 200 but Lexus told me my water pump was good when I had the cambelt changed but I replaced it anyway. Better safe than sorry! As for the headlight water, what Ian says get the hair dryer out!

  5. Do a thread search on leaking IS sunroof. Plenty of information. I use a piece of wire or straightened coat hanger. Push it through the tubes dislodging the crud. Be careful not to damage the tubes tho :)
  6. Its exactly the same on the IS! If a brake bulb goes then the handbrake light will stay illuminated even tho the IS has a light on the dash to say a bulb is out. The bulb out light has never come on on my car, only when you start it and all the lights come on for a second!
  7. Yeah check the drains first. I just assume people know sunroofs have drains on them that need unblocking every now and then
  8. This happened to my mates 300! He put a whole new sunroof in with new seals and everything. He did it himself. Took him all day on a Sunday. Got the sunroof from eBay for peanuts. :)
  9. Let us know how you get on and the out come. Hope it's not too serious :)
  10. You can get a working one for the buy it now price
  11. Not 100% sure but could be catalytic converter or something related to exhaust. I had a strong rotten egg/ammonia smell in a works van a few years ago, coming through the vents, worse when heaters on. Made me throw up! It was the catalytic converter.
  12. I'm doing this as my lumpy steering was back today but still no belt squeeling. Lexus say the power steering fluid is good for the life of a car! I don't agree with this. Thankyou :)
  13. I'm I the only one thinking that the losing of Coolant and EML light being on might not be related?
  14. Oh and to re set the ECU pull the fuse instead. That way you don't lose the trip on your computer and your saved radio stations on the stereo :)
  15. Not 1 to disagree but it doesn't always go into limp mode with the lights on. I've had the light on and TRC flashing and the car still has 100% power and drives as normal. It'll go into limp mode depending on if the fault the ECU has recognised is pertentially harmful to the engine so I was told by the dealer. But yes re set the ECU. It may be an old code. You never know. However if the car doesn't recognise the fault again after 3 on/off cycles of the ignition then the lights will go out by themselves without resetting anything and the fault code will be saved in history not present fault. For example with me I had a leaky fuel injector. So sometimes when I switched the car off it would run on for a second as the leaky injector would still drop petrol into the cylinder even when the car was turned off setting off a mis fire code in the ECU. Then next time I started the car EML light on and TRC flashing. Car still drove 100% as I said. Turn the car off and on 3 times, lights would go out. Put it on diagnostic, mis fire code stored in history.
  16. Haha never getting 450 mate. Your not even on course for 400! I gave this game up months ago! Lol 350 is a reasonable return in mine and I'm happy if I get that :)
  17. The TRC light flashing always happens when the engine management light comes on. Don't know why but it does. You need to get it on a diagnostic mate and read the codes. It's pure guesswork until you know why the car is throwing up fault codes and what those codes relate to.
  18. Sounds like siezed callipers, you have the symptoms. Check the temp of your alloys after driving. If noticibly hot, siezed calliper. Do you have a smell of burning when you get out of the car? What mechanic are you taking it to? I can't believe they'd keep changing discs and pads without noticing the calliper was seizing?? You'll keep going through lots of discs and pads if your callipers are seizing on! Do a search, read some threads, lots of info on this. In my opinion most common fault on IS200! Had both my front callipers sieze 6 months apart.
