  1. It's a lot more complicated than that. Pull down the boot lining on the inside held by plastic poppers. Then unscrew the two screws holding the plastic trim to the outside of the car and the 2 screws around the boot lock holding the trim to the car. The plastic trim will come off. Unclip the wires connected to the bulbs which feed through housings in the metal work. This is where I cut my fingers, be careful very fiddely and you need to push two plastic clips up through the metal work to free everything up. From the outside of the car pull the whole bulb casing away from the car, be careful, it needs a strong pull but too hard and you'll break it. Now you can remove the bulb and place the new one in. Put casing back into hole, re connect the wires to the clips. Now you have to realign the plastic trim on the outside and screw it back into place. Now re aligne the boot lock and do up the screws. Place boot lining back with poppers and now your done.
  2. Sounds like a nice drive mate! cost you loads in fuel :( We were considering driving the lex to Italy for our anniversary. I worked our I'll spend just under £1700 in petrol! So prob not gonna be worth it!
  3. Not me, don't want nothing to do with guys from piston heads forum! All I got on there was abuse and ridicule because apparently my problem could have been solved by a 5 year old! Their words. Wunch of bankers on there.....
  4. After me bragging that mine worked perfectly karma has bit me in the a s s!! My CD player reads error1.... :(
  5. The cluster bulbs are easy to change, couple of screws thats all...the parcel shelf brake light is a bit more tricky and the number plate lights are a complete PITA to change! I cut my index fingers to bits changing the number plate lights!
  6. Nobody should ever fail on bulbs, tyres, wipers etc but I had no idea the rear shocks were gone, car still drove well and it didn't feel wobbly. Never gave it the 'bounce' test as I had no reason to. I always do now tho. Same with the cv joints, no idea how to check them tbh.
  7. Nice one fella. :) We all hate MOT time! Putting my IS200 through was the most nerve racking ever as it was due just 2 months after I bought it but mine went through, no advisories :) My Honda failed 3 years running, always on suspension parts. 1st year rear shocks, 2nd year cv joint, 3rd year other cv joint. :(
  8. It's Noby's thread and he threw it off topic so....
  9. And out of puff, sorry Noby I didn't want to get involved in this but I've sat in the passenger seat of an IS300 on a top speed run and I know that engine wasn't gonna pull anymore. Seriously mate, why are you the only one that thinks an IS300 will hit 150mph? Even if your speedo reads 147mph you more likely to be around the 140mph mark as you've admitted yourself that speedometers over read!
  10. I've been in my mates standard 300 (you'll meet him at the Mayday meet if your coming) on a top speed run at Hullavington Airfield in Wiltshire. It was in tip top condition, just serviced, all new filters, oils, fluids etc. the speedo hovered between 142-145mph, it wasn't pulling anymore! Now take into consideration I'm a fat git and weigh in at 17 stone, my mate weighs about 9 stone, fuel tank was pretty much empty and also that speedo's over read by 5-10mph your still not hitting that 150mph ever!!
  11. Hi, I'm of the same opinion as above. I don't see how 4 new tyres can decrease your MPG so significantly! Even if they are un balanced the mpg difference should be so small that you won't notice it!
  12. It will run out of puff ray... If noby's 300 can get a genuine 150mph, it'll be the only 1 on the planet in standard form that can
  13. I think it looks like one of those sweets... You know rhubarb and custard.
  14. Cheers Ray, thanks for that. Going to put off clicking the link till I get home :) I remember some of the cars but I was less than 10 years old when these were racing...
  15. Hi and welcome. I'll second Ian's question...Which Lex do you want?
  16. I just google imaged all these cars you mention! Looks like an era cars were cars and had to be driven. No fancy electronic aids on them I bet :)
  17. I read it all Ray on my coffee break! Lol This pic had me falling off my chair with laughter, sorry Noby.
  18. Oh right please forgive my ignorance, obviously a very rare car! Good luck raising the money! I'll give you a £1 mate so your on your way!
  19. I've just read this thread all the way through... Gold pure gold!!! Haha
  20. No offence mate but £125k for that? Why is it so special? Looks like a banger
  21. Pretty big range being guessed here Steve... Didn't really give us much to go on to be fair!
  22. Shocker, even worse than that bright orange and black one....
