    You bet its heavy I watched one guy try to move it one his own last week but he couldnt, it needed two of them to move it. Quality. Mike I had no idea! My old mans old Carlton had a heavy bonnet I remember that! Forgive my ignorance.... I just thought they put gas ones on there for the sake of it!

    I have a similar rattle story lol Spent days trying to work out where the rattle behind the dash was coming from. Turned out to be the red plastic that covers the positive terminal on the battery flapping about everywhere under the bonnet!

    Anybody else think this is a case of over engineering a car for the sake of it? I mean you guys are complaining that it's dangerous etc cos the gas struts have failed and could fall on your head but if you had an old fashioned bonnet clip like my IS200 then there's nothing to go wrong and you wouldn't have a problem right now? I don't see how fitting these gas struts to the car at the factory has improved the car... It's just something else to go wrong.

    Ok I'm gonna say it one more time, turning on/off the traction control will not increase/decrease the acceleration in a car unless the TRC is turned on and your wheels start spinning, then it will cut the power to the engine to stop the wheels spinning therefore giving you very poor acceleration. It is a stability function...

    Yes if you don't wheel spin it. All traction control does is try to keep the car in a straight line. It has nothing to do with power of the engine except it cuts power when it detects wheelspin. You seem confused, as if you thought the traction control should give you more power? Why do you think that?

    Yes its a smooth car and not very fast. Traction control doesn't make a car faster it makes it handle better. When the traction control detects wheel spin it cuts the throttle so you can't accelerate making the wheel spin worse. Turn off traction control and you can wheel spin and slide the car as much as you want.... Until you hit a tree.

    Tell em you don't care about their profit margins! The cheek to say that to you... Wow!! You bought a car that isn't what you thought or got told it would be. Give them the car back, tell them the windscreen is their problem and no you will not go through your insurance! Again the cheek of it!! Tell them you want the car delivered as you request with problems taken care of or you want your money back in full and bid them good day!!

    Poor mpg, white smoke.... Sounds like head gasket to me! Are you going through coolant and oil and is there an emulsion type mayonnaise in and around the oil cap?

    I got a quote of £85 per wheel for my Aero's but their 18"s and ive chosen a company in Swindon that Ferrari and Porsche dealers go to so prob a bit on the expensive side but I'll know they'll be done to the highest of standards :) I found mobile Refurbers to be as cheap as £50 per wheel but I just don't trust them...

    The squeeking sound might just be your brakes need greasing up. But as Petay says check the callipers these are prone to sticking. As for the steering, mine was lumpy and well just horrible to drive so all I did was tighten the power steering belt and change the power steering fluid and now the steering is perfect. Hope this helps :)

    Hi and welcome to LOC :) No idea what real world mpg are as I don't have a 250 But if you do a search and read some old threads members seem to report anywhere between 25-35 average mpg

    Number plate lights are straight swap 501's, not done any of the others on mine so couldn't tell you sorry.

    It seems your not welcome on their forum unless your a complete guru on your car and all other cars. Anybody with a simple question gets abuse and called F in this and F in that!
