I know mate. At first I was really angry but then realised if it had been a couple of cm higher or lower it would've damaged the actual metal work instead of just a flimsy bit of plastic... Lucky really :)
All fixed mate, thanks anyway. Had no replies on here and nothing on fleabay so I bought one from Lexus £40!! Ouch.....
I just couldn't drive around with a massive crack in the boot! Lol :)
I had a clunk Stuart under same conditions. In fact I still have it. Lexus say its down to the design of the shock absorber and it's a valve opening and closing.
You can only hear it on mine with the windows down and there's no other traffic or noise about and even then it's not massively noticeable.
so I haven't given it another thought until today.
Haha sounds like he will make himself look busy under your bonnet for a few hours, listen to the radio, drink a few cups of tea, eat a few jammy dodgers then charge you £125.
Nice work if you can get it....
Sounds like your gonna have to bite the bullet and get a diagnostic from a main dealer. At least they can diagnose the problem accurately.
You don't then have to get the work done at the dealer but at least you'll know exactly what's wrong.
I can answer 2 of your questions lol
Lights are the same yes :)
Sounds like the battery in your key had gone. Unscrew the casing pop the old battery out and in with a new see if that works.
No idea about exhaust or intake system for a 300 sorry.... I'm sure somebody will answer.
Cambelt was revised to 60k as Stuart says.
Maybe the key that doesn't work just needs coding to the car? Coding only is £45 at Lexus or you can find the method of how to do it on this forum if you do a search.
Really stock wheels are better?
Have you ever seen an IS in the metal with them on? They make the car look so much better!
I think the 2 main reasons they are so popular are 1, they are rare and 2, they are 18 inch as opposed to 17 so fill the arch a lot better. Also every IS I see has the same wheels so it's nice to be different :)
I think you may be worrying excessively. Tomorrow morning, get somebody else to start the car while you monitor the exhaust and then you can see for yourself.
Hi and Welcome :)
Well you know the engine is bulletproof if well maintained! Sticking brake callipers seem to be a problem.... Not a lot goes wrong with these cars if maintained correctly.
Enjoy your lex
Hi and welcome. I also use Lexus main dealers as I'm not competent enough to do it myself and I've found them on average to be just a few quid dearer which for me is worth it... Peace of mind etc :)
