  1. Yeah doesn't sound like a "genuine Toyota part" to me. Every time I've bought parts from a main dealer they come in a box stamped with big red letters "Genuine Toyota Parts" and a Toyota emblem.
  2. Wooo more bad feedback regarding Cardiff. I also fell out with this dealership. They really have no concept of customer service. They can't even do something as simple as return a phone call or email. I use Lexus Bristol and I have to say they've been superb. Can't fault them really and they'll happily negotiate prices for servicing, labour costs etc. They won't budge on parts from the part department but they say these prices are set by Lexus UK and they can't change them. Kim in the parts department is very helpful and you forget your on the phone to a dealership when talking to him and I've found myself discussing everything from Lexus to Mercedes to where I'm going on holiday. I deal with Nigel in the service department, top bloke and he drives an IS200 so we always talk about the car and when he's not around, Simon has been a pleasure to deal with.
  3. Download photobucket app. Upload photos you want to post to photobucket. Copy the IMG code of photo you want to post then paste it :)
  4. If you get the 450 miles to a tank it'll be a miracle! Lol Enjoy the drive, sounds great fun :)
  5. Yeah that makes complete sense when put like that. If only they had marked the tail light fuse, sidelights as well! Would have saved me 2 hours yesterday.
  6. I was told the sidelight fuse was marked "gauge" If that's not the sidelight fuse, what is it? So the fogs not working being linked with the sidelights not Working makes sense but for the sidelights and front fogs not to work because the tail light fuse had blown just seems strange to me lol
  7. I don't know what they look like. They are for definate under the roof lining. I asked Lexus when mine went bad. They confirmed there's an issue with interior sensors going bad as the cars get older. They quoted me just over £200 to fix them. Id read on this forum about them being disconnected so got them to disconnect them for me for a few quid, can't remember now it was a year ago. These threads helped me. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=72491&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=63070&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1
  8. The interior sensors are directly behind the interior light panel. You have to take the roof lining down to get to them. I don't know how to disconnect them, I got somebody to do it for me.
  9. Could be interior sensors. Quite a few stories about them going bad including mine. I disconnected mine and no more problems. New ones are quite pricey. There may be insurance implications etc so beware of that. In the mean time until you know the cause for sure, when you get out of the car, lock all the doors with the button on the drivers door then lock the drivers door with the key not the electric fob. This will lock your car but the alarm won't be armed so it can't go off. Will give you some peace while you track down the cause.
  10. Hi guys. I'm posting this as hopefully it will save somebody wasting 2 hours like I just did. Basically I just changed my sidelights and a couple of seconds after I turn them on, they go out. First thing I checked was the sidelight fuse. It was perfectly fine. So I tried all my lights on the front to make sure it was just the sidelights. Oh I'd checked it wasn't just the sidelight bulbs by this point. My dip beam was fine, high beam fine but no front fog lights and no sidelights and the green light on the dash indicating the fogs were on also didn't light up. I was starting to get seriously fed up by this point. Checked front fog fuse, ok, relay was perfectly fine. I searched this forum and others and all the info I could get was its the relay but mine was fine so completely stumped. Then just out of curiousity I checked the rear fog lights. I hadn't thought about the rear lights as i was sure it was a front end problem. The rear fogs worked fine but I noticed I had no tail lights. Pulled the tail light fuse and it was blown. Replaced it and hey presto I have all my lights working again, sidelights and front fogs. What I can't understand is why are the tail lights, front fogs and sidelights affected by the tail light fuse? Front fogs and sidelights have their own fuses! Strange one but just glad I got it sorted :)
  11. My drivers side stuck first then 6 months later the passenger side siezed.
  12. You could just buy the belt from eBay they're about £20 (some as cheap as £10) and then get a mechanic to fit it for 30 mins labour which at my local garage would cost £40. So belt fitted for £60. As you can see Lexus are charging you about £100 labour. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-LS400-LS430-UCF-ALTERNATOR-BELT-LS400-4-0I-V8-UCF20-94-98-OE-QUALIT-/300616420839?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item45fe228de7
  13. This is true, I saw it on top gear with a Mercedes. If I hold my fob to my head, the range almost doubles lol
  14. The water travelling noise you hear on start up prob indicates your coolant is low or you have air trapped in the system.
  15. I'm also a big fan of the movies, and I've loved that car ever since I was a kid! It's the doors!!! Never seen one in the metal.... I bet they're extremely rare! You know you need one with one of these right....
  16. I thought you said supercar? Why have you posted a pic of a Volkswagen Beetle
  17. I'm sure I downloaded this for free somewhere.... Can't find it now.
  18. Three great driving songs and three of my favourites... Eric Clapton - Layla Foo Fighters - Everlong Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptyness
  19. Aftermarket Stuart. When I bought my car it had a hands free/mobile phone thingy attatched to the tax disc holder and a cable running into the engine bay, to the battery with its own fuse attatched to it stuck down with gaffer tape. Looked like a right cowboy job. Literally the first thing I did when u got the car home was to rip all that out.
  20. Defiantly some crossed wires going on there.... First time I've ever heard of that, let us know the outcome. Interesting one this.
  21. That doesn't sound right.... Sounds like your signal is weak. Mine works from a good 70ft if not further and my car is 12 years old. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have to touch the car with the fob to get it to work.
  22. Why a delorean? Back to the future fan? Weren't these one of the slowest and most poorly built cars ever? Forgive me if I'm wrong lol
  23. If only it was as simple as pushing lock and unlock together!
  24. Ahhh gutted fella! That's my biggest fear after I get mine Refurbed in May...
  25. Hi and welcome :) Hope you make it on the 5th.
