  1. Agree with everything Marc has said. They must've broke the crank sensor when removing the belt. Please take this advice and don't be scared but tell them they broke the crank sensor. The belt being in a bad way before you took it in would not cause this. Tell them they replace the part at their expense and no extra labour charge. You will happily pay the bill that was quoted for the cambelt and water pump but NOTHING else! If they don't like that then tell them you will seek legal advice and take it from there. I've done that twice in my life and both times the garages involved have backed down when you mention the word legal or solicitor.
  2. Is there still a prize for furthest travelled for this? My mrs has just planned it so that we are at my mums in Swansea on the 4th May. So I'll be coming from Swansea :(
  3. Mine pulls quite nicely at 30-40mph in 6th Ian. It'll even pull in 6th from below 20mph. Torqueiest car I've ever driven lol :)
  4. Don't take this the wrong way but it sounds like everytime you get in the car you drive it like you stole it so it's no wonder your mpg is rubbish. Lol..... My driving style for this car if wanting good mpg is to never take it above 3000rpm before a gear change, when I get to my desired speed, just feather the throttle ever so slightly. At 60mph I can get the MPG needle to sit on 40mpg. I know I'm not getting that (the needle isn't exactly accurate) but if I do some sums then I get about 30mpg driving it like that. A full tank returns between 300-350 miles for me. Do you know what mileage you get from a full tank?
  5. Personally I think that black armrest would look better in my car.
  6. Mine idles at 1500rpm when cold and about 650 rpm when warm. I would say 2000rpm is too high.
  7. With all the issues you had and the DAB being a big deal for you then I think you've made the right decision. How did Lexus Cardiff take it?
  8. Clean the throttle body then. There's a "how to" on this forum. Doesn't take long either :)
  9. This car is notoriously bad on fuel but your MPG would indicate either your driving everywhere with your foot to the floor or there is something wrong. I get about 20mpg around town. I can get this up to 28-30mpg if driving on the motorway at 60-70mph. To be honest 20mpg might be about right if your flying down the motorway at 90mph.
  10. I was going to say how is this costing you more money? You sent it in working for a belt replacement, they strip your engine, put it back together and now it doesn't work? That's their problem, they've broken something or not put it back together properly. Do not let them charge you for any more work!
  11. I drove one, only a 45 min test drive. Thought it was a completely amazing car :)
  12. Looking good Stuart! Bet you can't go until May without curbing them! Hope you do tho ;)
  13. You would have thought the nuts would be the same wouldn't you? Lol.... How annoying!!
  14. ^haha I'll tell him you all love his wheels ;)
  15. I've driven an X5 and thought it was amazing! Much better than my IS200! If an LS is in a different league to the X5 then that's seriously impressive!
  16. Turbo is way more expensive so I've been told. Supercharger is about £2k as Ian says, if you're lucky enough to find one for sale.
  17. Lol I think everybody knows what Aero wheels look like :) Best bet is fleabay. I've seen sets go for £175 that needed refurb, up to £550 for a set of mint condition.
  18. If you watch a male goose (a gander) besides a pond it will often stretch its neck and look around 360 degrees. That's where having a gander comes from :)
  19. Hello Paul. Welcome to the club :)
