  1. Chances are the geometry of your car is all over the place now. I would get it set up properly with a laser set up as suggested above.
  2. Huge difference!!! And the wheel caked in brake dust is the rear, wow! Really like those wheels Steve :)
  3. Mate bushings are sold separate from the control arms just not by Lexus. I know cis I've just bought some. £20 quid each and an hours labour to fit. About £100 all in. Both inner bushes and lower bushes are available. Here:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS200-IS300-1999-2005-FRONT-LOWER-CONTROL-ARM-REAR-BUSH-BUSHES-x2-/181034219207?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item2a267af6c7 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS200-IS300-1999-2005-FRONT-LOWER-CONTROL-ARM-REAR-BUSH-x1-/170964524940?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item27ce479f8c
  4. I can't believe they haven't looked at your car yet! And their main focus seems to be on a new wheel? That's the last thing they should look at as you have a full sized alloy wheel in your boot they could put on. I would have asked them just to sort the suspension and use the spare then I would by a wheel from eBay to replace the spare. It's really hard to give you an idea of parts prices and labour costs when we have no idea what parts you need. To be honest I know one thing, I'd get my car out of that garage that can't even be bothered to have a proper look at it 4 days after your bump and get it somewhere that has a sense of urgency. Your car could be back on the road by now or at least nearly finished!
  5. Have a read here http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/80115-seized-calliper-again/?fromsearch=1 There's loads of information on siezed/sticky callipers on this forum if you do a search. Welcome to the club by the way :)
  6. No they don't seize up after every few months. That would be a huge flaw with car. My drivers side siezed after 85k then passenger side after 93k. The grease your talking about is copper grease applied to the pads, stops them squeeling.
  7. Are you after parts specifically from a Sportscross? A lot of the parts will be the same as a saloon IS wont they? I don't know to be honest but I would have thought so. The engines the same anyway. Just thinking broaden your search thats all. :)
  8. What Ian said Petay, thought so. That pic you put a link to is Aztec fire :)
  9. The pollen filter is your cabin filter. Don't change it and the inside of your car starts to smell musty especially when using the air con. It's behind your glovebox. Sounds like a good deal then. Pollen filters aren't expensive
  10. Not really Chris. I have tried my best but just don't get along with the thing. It is a lot of fun in the snow I must say. A LOT of fun I might say... It's just too small and uncomfy and no toys. Misses likes it quite a bit so might keep it as a fun car as I've just bought her a grown up car (kind of) the little Merc in the middle. Knobby will be along soon enough saying BMWs are ******* and his invincible IS is better.... That's fair enough Ray. I've always liked the 5 series. I'd love an M5 one day..... Keep it if your misses likes it :) Anyway it's not snowing here
  11. Another big BMW Ray, Nice.... :) Not loving the IS?
  12. Second the pollen filter :) You need iridium plugs. NGK or Denso. Nothing else. I paid £60 just for spark plugs so that's a really good deal I would say about half price. What standard are the filters tho?
  13. Heat I would have gone with country following Romania ;)
  14. Fire BTW Stuart you're not making this easy...
  15. Take a trip to WIM (wheels in motion) in Chesham mate. Yes it's an hour and half drive away from Swindon but worth it. The savings you will make in tyres is worth the trip alone. Give them a call and ask to speak to Tony (the Dr). He will explain everything to you including how the IS200/300 left the factory with the wrong geometry settings. Tony has solved the inner tyre wear problem and has a perfect set up for the car. Mine felt like getting a brand new car back honestly! pretty much the only place to go for geometry in the UK if you own a 1st gen IS :) Oh and book it in. Don't just turn up. They are pretty much fully booked every day so book with a week a so notice. It's £115 all in
  16. Oh and you picking arguments and being less than friendly with members because you don't like their questions or deem them to be stupid.... I would say if anybody is a troll sir, then it's you.
  17. Hi and welcome. Is that burnt orange what Lexus call Aztec Fire? Love that colour. Enjoy your lex and get some pics up :)
  18. Not all main dealers will rip you off. Yes they can be extremely expensive for repairs and diagnostics but I got my 10 year/100k service done at Lexus Bristol for £350 inc VAT. Ok for spark plugs as well it would've been £430 but I changed the plugs myself. Also dealers will negotiate, don't be scared to haggle a little :)
  19. I'm in the habit of getting Lexus to diagnose my problems then I can choose where and who to use for repairs. For example my lower control arm bushes are shot, Lexus won't replace the bushes but only the entire control arms. £300 a control arm just for the part, I need both sides so £600 in parts plus labour and VAT and the bull would be over £1000! I bought the bushes for £20 each from ebay and am paying a garage £70 in labour to change them. So what Lexus wanted £1000 for I'm paying £110 :)
  20. Yeah but to call a new member a troll? Like I said, harsh. And they'll prob never log on again now! And maybe you don't buy a car without checking such things but obviously some people do. And what if the op's second hand RX didn't come with a handbook? What then? I know you could go online and ask people on a Lexus forum?
  21. Troll? Really? Bit harsh. Not everybody is an expert. And I bet I could drive away an RX without reading the handbook or knowing what the foot brake does exactly. Go a bit easier on people fella!
  22. I did hint and suggest this in an earlier post :)
  23. Yeah but if the OP is genuinely getting below 12mpg no matter how he drives then there's a problem surely? That's LFA MPG
