It's illegal to tint them past a certain darkness. Your front windows must let in 75% of natural daylight.
I tinted the fronts on my old Primera. Got stopped by the police and they make you peel most of it off by the side of the road!
My 200 struggled to start a few times. Filled it with high octane, Ran 3 tanks of it about 900 miles and it's never struggled since. I now use a tank of high octane every third re fill. My car always fires up instantly now :)
I don't take any notice of insurance groups Pete, i should have said roughly the same insurance...All I know is my IS200 sport is £557 a year fully comp with all the extras, courtesy car, glass cover etc etc.. And for me to insure an is300 on the same package is £570... So technically you are right it's more expensive but only by £13. not gonna break the bank now is it :)
It was actually 12 years ago I was in Africa... Time flies! I lived in Cape Town for a year, Bloemfontein for 6 months and Pretoria for 6 months so moved all over really. We went to PE for a weekend, nice beaches :)
Have you joined the Facebook IS200 page? Lots of knowledgable owners on there. https://www.facebook.com/groups/179809172041079/
Hi and welcome :)
I did a bit of travelling in southern Arfica about 10 years ago. Lived in SA for 2 years. I have visited Botswana. Never saw any Lexus there tho.... Lol
Haha I'm no guru mate but thanks....
If its something other than the notchyness and clinking then yeah maybe you do have something wrong. I take it it hasn't always behaved like this. I don't really understand what you mean by 'cuts'
Is it not going into gear properly? Does the revs rise but the car not respond?
Not to mention you get full leather, an armrest, HID's as standard, triptronic auto box and all the IS200 Sport extras such as alloy pedals, tinted windows, two tone steering wheel, lower suspension.
Trust me mate it annoyed me so much when I first got the car that I researched what I could do to improve it and basically you can't. Like i said, they were like that from new. I noticed absolutely no difference after changing the oil. But yeah you should have the right oil in there to begin with. Are you only noticing the notchyness and clunks now? Mine also clunks and is notchy between 2nd and 3rd.
How are you slower from the start than an auto, I'm not, if anything I'm faster. That's down to your driving style mate, riding the clutch?
How long u had the car? It's normal mate. Mines clunked for the last 15k miles since I've owned it. Changed gear box oil, no difference. Some did it from brand new Lexus Bristol told me. I've got used to it, quite like the clunk it makes now! Lol... :)
Oh and I can't see how it would have anything to do with ignition coils!!
To me it applies even if you have the receipts.
If I was buying a car from you, and to be fair I don't know you from Adam, so what guarantee is there to me as a buyer that you are competent enough to carry out the servicing yourself?
