  1. So uneven tyre wear is normal on an LS as well. It's well documented that the first gen IS came from the factory with the wrong alignment/geometry settings. This caused uneven inner tyre wear. This should not be the case and has been solved by Tony Bones at Wheels In Motion. Lexus still say the uneven tyre wear is normal but after having my car set up at WIM the uneven tyre wear has gone and the car handles better than it did set to the Lexus settings. I wouldn't be so happy as to just accept that you will have to change tyres prematurely because of uneven outside tyre wear just cos Lexus say its normal.
  2. If I see a mayonnaise type substance under the oil cap it says Head Gasket to me fella. I had a head gasket go on a BMW 3 series. The coolant was fine, no oil. But the oil had coolant and made the mayo type stuff :(
  3. I'll listen for the clunk on the drive home tonight. Thanks. How much am I looking at if it is ball joints? Parts and labour? And Lexus prices if I get them to do it?
  4. I agree with this... Accelerate hard and get to your cruising speed as soon as poss
  5. Hi everybody. Last night on the drive home I noticed at speeds above 40mph there's a slight whistle coming from somewhere that you can only hear when the window is down. There's also slight vibration through the steering wheel again at speeds above 40mph. I'm 100% certain it's not stuck brake callipers. Both callipers are less than 8 months old and there's no other stuck brake symptoms such as smell or hot wheels. Also the vibration goes when I apply the brake, when I had siezed callipers it got worse under braking. So I'm thinking ball joints maybe? I'm a bit fed up as I'd just cured the front suspension arm bushes and the car was driving perfectly for a couple of weeks and now the vibration again! Anybody got any ideas? I'll prob take it to Lexus for a diagnosis, just want to know what's wrong!!
  6. I always fill mine to the brim. Sometimes a little spills over. Stuart gets the best MPG out of any IS owner I've seen! You must take ages to get anywhere! Lol.. What time are you leaving for the meet on the 5th? About 3pm on the 4th?
  7. You know we are working in miles right not Kilometers over here! Mines at half now. 170 miles done, the light will come on around 300 as it always does!
  8. Hi and welcome :) Now that is a rare car. Only ever seen 1 on the road. Any pics?
  9. It'll help you keep fit walking when you get a flat.. haha....
  10. I noticed that you didn't tag the Veyron as brand new... has it gone out of production or did you only want 2011-year models? It's because I want this one from the Bently Dealership on Park Lane... Only £900,000 with 23k on the clock, 1 owner
  11. If fuses have gone then there will be no power to whatever that fuse is relating to so it won't be that. It's prob same as mine, alternator is old, still works, just not as effective as it used to be but not bad enough to change it.
  12. Coil packs got cheaper from lexus then. I got quoted £90 per coil!
  13. £60 is a good price for plugs. That's for all 6 right? That's what I paid from EBay. £113 per coil? That's disgusting! IanS200 had some for sale for about £20 each I think a while back.
  14. I doubt it will be fuses as everything still works right? Mine has done this since I've owned it. It also dims the lights when u switch the heated screen in as well, only for a split second. I changed the battery but it still does it. Asked Lexus to look at the alternator when they were servicing it but they said its fine and working correctly. They also checked the alternator belt was the correct tension and it was. So they had no idea how to cure it. I've ended up living with it and don't even notice it now.
