  1. Bumper comes off easy mate. Don't need a ramp.
  2. No worries mate. Glad it's sorted. :) That's the problem with the Aero wheels, they're made of butter! Lexus told me they had so many issues with the aeros bending/buckling! Never had the same problem with the 17 inch normal IS200 wheels. Strange!
  3. Unfortunatly my Aero's are knackered. All 5 are bent/buckled and all kerbed badly. So the choice was new wheels or refurb the aeros. I know how good the aeros look but I want to be a little different. Also I can refurb the aeros and make a little profit in them or if I don't like the new wheels I can pop the Refurbed aeros back on and sell the mesh wheels. Everyone's a winner As for your bulbs there's a list of the correct bulb numbers somewhere on this forum if u do a search :)
  4. Gotta be the bulb then mate. I put the wrong ones in and had the same problem. No the Aero wheels are not available new anymore. Mine will be coming off on Tuesday and fitting a set of black mesh wheels :) I'm going to refurb all 5 Aero alloys and sell them :)
  5. I rotate mine on my IS200. I run 225/40/18 all round so I can't see how rotating front to back and back to front is a bad thing? I make sure the best two tyres are on the back. I understand that newer BMW's and the 2nd gen IS have a staggered setup, wider tyres on the back. So yes it would be unwise to rotate them as you'll end up putting wider tyres on the front and slimmer tyres on the back which will make the car handle like a crap! I think your mechanic is getting confused between a staggered set up and same tyres all round. The benefits of rotating are quite noticeable. I didn't rotate the first set I had on the car and when I measured the tread after 9 months the backs had 3mm and the fronts 4.5mm. So if you rotate you should get even wear all round. I think it's wise to rotate on the 1st gen IS as it eats tyres. I get about 12,000 miles from a set!!
  6. Yes the front fogs and tail lights are the same fuse. Have you changed bulbs Recently? Maybe put the wrong ones in?
  7. I'd drive 5 hours for Stav to work on my car! Take the offer mate! :)
  8. Wouldn't worry too much Pete. I put a tenner in mine once when the light was on, the light went out but the needle didn't actually move!
  9. Just realised which car this is, You would't recognise it from the car you bought, Excellent job you have done...just awesome. Thanks Ian, it feels more 'yours' when you put the effort into it. I've just realised what car this is as well! You did a build thread on another forum right? Had a black door didn't it? Lol...
  10. Maybe you need to get it looked at as Stuart says.... 11mpg all the time can't be right. One thing I've noticed recently, last month I was working 40 miles from home so doing 80 miles per day and I would say 90% of that was motorway. During this period I achieved over 400 miles from a full tank (something I've never been able to do before) These last 2 weeks I am working 9 miles from home so 18 miles per day driving through the City for 6 miles then a 'B' road for 3 miles so never getting higher than 40 mph and not really getting out of 4th gear. I've just filled up and I only got 238 miles from the last tank. So you can see, town driving as opposed to motorway driving has a massive affect on mpg.
  11. I can't do 26th May (work) or 2nd June (friends wedding) so looks like I'm out of this one Ian. :(
  12. Stuart...May 5 was summer. My favourite day of the year! Over now
  13. Hi and welcome. Very nice :) They do look like Aero wheels from an IS but I think they're aftermarket. Enjoy
  14. Hi. Put up as many pics as you like... We like pics! :) Car looks fantastic :zee:
  15. Here's my thread, it wasn't 3/4 of a tank Im mistaken but it was a while ago lol :) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/79543-dodgy-fuel-gauge/?fromsearch=1
  16. Ahh now this happened to me a few months ago and I put up a post about it. Basically I parked up with just under half a tank of petrol on the gauge. Got back in the car and when I started it the gauge shot up to 3/4 full. I drove the car as if it had 3/4 of a tank and i didnt run out and the gauge seemed fine from then on. Never did explain it but it happened to Noby76 as well.... The petrol fairies must've visited you as well Stuart! :)
  17. Try opening the fuel cap, then putting your finger in the neck and sort of wiggle it about a bit. The car has 2 floats in the fuel tank, sometimes 1 or both get stuck and show the tank to be completely full or completely empty.
  18. Hi Simon. Welcome to the club. We like pics :)
  19. Hi and welcome. First place to look when something electrical is not working is fuses and relays. Rule the simplest things out first :)
