  1. You book it in and it takes about 45 mins to an hour. It doesn't make the ride more smoother as such, It didn't seem to on mine anyway not that I noticed. Depends on how far out your alignment is I suppose, but the car feels more solid and planted on the road, doesnt sway or drift and handles sooo much better. If you've noticed your front tyres wearing more on the inside then a WIM alignment will cure this saving you £££££'s in the long run on tyres :)
  2. I take it that's a real AC Cobra and not a kit car? Wouldn't be a wasted summer in my eyes, would be an awesome summer!!
  3. Thanks for the replies. I wonder if I can get 200k from this car And yes Pete, about a month ago I was ready to say goodbye to this car but I got it driving perfect again and when it's driving like this I don't want another car, it really is an awesome machine when everything is working properly :) In regards to you not having to touch the focus it was the same with my Honda. I think the difference is that I couldn't have given a monkeys if I drove the Honda down the road and it blew up.... The thought of the lex blowing up saddens/scares me!
  4. Ok guys sorry.... I was just pointing out that top gear had a history of writing up german cars and writing down on Lexus...I'll ssshhhhh from now on :)
  5. With regards to the Top Gear article.... I wouldn't take much notice of it! Top Gear love their German Saloons and will always write favourably about BMW, Audi, MB and will always say the Japanese equivalents such as Lexus will never be as good as them. Top Gear have also been guilty of Mickey taking when it comes to Lexus saying things like "you buy Lexus to drive to a golf club or a stonemasons meeting" or "Lexus don't break, but we wish they would" says it all really...
  6. So today my car clocked up 100,000 miles Now I don't normally keep cars much longer after they hit 100k but I think it's gonna be different with the lex. I think it's still got plenty of life left in it yet. I bought the car with 84,000 miles on it and it's fair to say I've had a few probs! But I honestly can't think of anything else I'd rather own (within my budget) right now so I have no plans on getting rid of it. In fact, the car is in a lot better condition now at 100k than it was at 84k when I bought it. As I've been told by a few people, it's only just run in! Lol... Also with regular maintenance and servicing I think these engines will go past 200k easily! I don't really ever see me parting with the lex and I think I'll keep it until it does die even if I do buy another car in the meantime :)
  7. Nice easy one to follow then Ian... Light (Lucia in Latin I think)
  8. I reckon you got about a month Pete! Mine siezed 6 months apart. I had a terrible brake imbalance while I had the new calliper on the right and the old on the left. Best to change them in pairs.
  9. Friendly place this mate.... Nobody is gonna slate you for your ideas for the car. We'll just give you friendly advice which you can take on board or ignore :)
  10. Lexus is the top luxury marque in the US. Out selling BMW and MB. Guess the yanks aren't that stupid after all
  11. Hi Joel. just so your not disapointed doing anything to the engine other than a supercharger or turbo will result in 0 performance gains so in my eyes are pretty pointless. An induction kit and exhaust will make it sound better but won't improve performance at all. Great car for your first car tho. Enjoy
  12. Hi and welcome to LOC. :) As Colin says the 250! Way too many reliability probs with the 220d, head gasket, DPF etc etc... No such problems with the 250. Yes the 250 auto is cheaper on tax, I think £270 per year where as the manual is £470? Don't quote me on that but I know there's a big difference and I know the manual is def over £400 per year.
  13. In fact as a second car doing not many miles it would be ludicrous in my opinion to buy the diesel. For the 220d to be a good car it needs to be doing a lot of mileage and getting nice and hot regularly!
  14. Well it has to be the 250! If mileage/mpg isn't important you'd be mad to buy the diesel with all the problems it's had... Head gasket, DPF, faulty fifth injector etc.... No such problems on a 250 :)
  15. Winter tyres are much more effective in temps below 7'C. Doesn't matter if its snow, slush, rain, hail or bone dry, winters will outperform summers below 7'C.
  16. Hi and welcome to LOC. Enjoy the car. Friendly and helpful bunch on here. :)
  17. I'd top that up a bit of it were me. Don't like things on min level :)
