  1. I told my insurance I only do about 5k per year as at the time that's what I did! I also haven't told them about my new wheels yet....
  2. Lol...Yeah they'll post it to you mate, I've had a few things through the post from the dealers.
  3. What have you bought Pete? Out of curiuosity...
  4. Worth a try^ Didn't work for me but you never know! Disconnect the negative terminal for half an hour... :)
  5. Good Advice^ Don't bodge it... It'll give you more problems in the long run.
  6. Utter rubbish mate in my opinion. Done a bit of research on this myself and the general consensus amongst those who know what their talking about is that the OEM Lexus filter is the best and it's cheaper than nearly all the other 'performance' filters.
  7. Yes this method should code your key back to the car.
  8. Ok here you go:- To programme the door (and boot) opening of the remote: Start with the driver's door open. Insert a working Master Key (3 button) in to ignition, turn to on, then off and remove. Lock, then unlock all the doors using the POWER LOCK button on the drivers door FIVE TIMES (lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock lock unlock) Close drivers door, then re-open. Lock, then unlock anotheR FIVE TIMES, exactly as before. Insert your new key into the ignition and turn to on, then off agAin and remove. The door locks will then start operating. While they are clicking away, hold down the lock button on the new key and press the unlock button on the key 5 times. Then release and press unlock button once. The doors will lock and unlock once...and ure done! No it won't mess anything up. I failed a few times at doing this. It can get frustrating!
  9. So now you know how to lock the car if the remote doesn't work without arming the alarm as I put in my first reply. So you'll never be in that position again of having to leave your car unlocked all night. Good news that it's a masterkey. Should have no problem coding it back to the car using the door dance method. Good Luck :)
  10. I bought my IS200 15 months ago... It had 81,000 on the clock, it now has 100,000 so I guess I nearly do 20,000 miles per year :)
  11. Mine didn't Panya... Once it stopped unlocking the car it wouldn't work again until I coded it.
  12. Is the key you are using a masterkey? I.E. is it black with 3 buttons?
  13. The pedal dance is to get the key to start the car... Sounds like you need to do the door dance as well to programme the door locks to the key. This is also on that same thread I linked, just further down :)
  14. Sounds like your key has become un coded from the car. Does the key start the car? Don't know how this happens but it's happened to me as well. Do you have a spare key? Not good just to have 1 key. If you loose all keys to this car it's an absolute nightmare!! You can re code the key to the car by following the pedal dance routine on this thread http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/81219-one-key-not-starting-the-car/?fromsearch=1 As for locking your car without the alarm going off while your key doesn't work.... Get out of the car and using the button on the drivers electric window panel lock all the doors. This will lock all the doors except the drivers door. Now simply lock the drivers door with the key. The car will be locked but the alarm will not be armed. The immobiliser will still be on tho...
  15. 9 mile drive and everything back to normal. Car drove perfect... Car was having a funny 5 mins!
  16. It's not the first time it's done this.... I bet it'll be a mis fire code even tho it hasn't mis fired. That's what it was last time. I just cleared it, that must've been 5-6 months ago now.
  17. Well I just turned the car on and off 3 times and the lights have gone out. That means its not throwing up the fault as a current fault and is stored as history. Yes I've got a code reader so I'll hook it up tomorrow to find out what made the lights come on in the first place.
  18. Yeah I was washing and waxing the car every other day. If I left it for say a week, it was a nightmare to get clean. As for your neighbour Pete, if I'd been parking there for 2 years then I would continue to park there and tell her to shove it! If it meant the difference between my lex getting covered in sap and bird doo or not then I would be less than polite to her Tell her you want to see her deed or whatever outlining the parking space...
  19. Typical.... 114 miles over 100k and the EML decides to come on :(
  20. I had this problem in our old house. The drive was covered with trees. I ended up washing the car every other day. I got told sap is not good for the paintwork and can leave permanent marks. Also cos it was parked under trees it would be covered in bird doo doo every single morning!!! I'll tell ya mate, it gets really annoying when you work hard to shine the car up and then after just an hour of it parked on the drive it's covered in tree sap and bird droppings! And every single morning before work cleaning the bird cr*p off.....
  21. Yep my mates had siezed on his IS when we were there. Tony got the blow torch out and un siezed them. Quite common on the Lexus he said.
  22. Haha I think you need a full geo setup! You'll wonder why didn't do it sooner when you've had it done.
