  1. Can't complain at that lol
  2. Engine oil and filter is fine at 10k miles. Cabin filter is every 10k not 15k. Air filter Coolant Brake fluid All 20k Spark plugs replace Aux belt replace 60k Timing belt 90k/10 years Diff oil is 20k The official line from Lexus on the ATF is "never change" If you decide to change, don't flush it or completely change it. Change it little by little. A full change on older car that has never had the ATF changed before can "shock" the box and lead to complete transmission failure. That's not just hearsay either. I've seen that happen on a 10 year old IS300 at 100,000 miles.
  3. Way to make money on the TTE body kit is to sell it seperate. Front bumper in good condition worth up to £200, rear bumper about £100. Wheels if not buckled or bent but most are nowadays as they're made of chocolate, can go for £300-400 with tyres.
  4. No it's not worth anymore. Maybe a few quid but not much more.
  5. Sounds like aftermarket phone kit. There was one fitted to my old IS200 that sounds exactly like that. The two domes on the drivers side are sensors. One is indeed for your auto lights. The other is the climate control sensor
  6. Because the car is running fine with no warning lights it shouldn't fail emissions. If cats were goosed you'd have running problems and the engine management light giving CAT codes
  7. I'd also get an emissions test done elsewhere to confirm it failed emissions
  8. Sold every car I've ever sold on Autotrader in under 2 weeks. It's a very good system for sellers as Colin says.
  9. Hi and welcome. Nice car but there's nothing limited edition about it. Limited editions were only on 04/05 plates and came in a unique colour (Kodiak sky)
  10. What Colin said^ Don't flush it if it's not been flushed regularly in it's life. I've seen first hand this transmission fail after a flush. It was the cars first ATF change after 9 years and 100,000 miles.
  11. I think that's pretty cool. It's different and unique. I understand you guys love for the LS400 in standard form and to you guys they should not be messed with and I respect that. Different strokes for different blokes tho lol
  12. Pro lex don't have the greatest reputation amongst long term owners. Just a friendly pointer
  13. What colour is it? Personally I wouldn't use anything except Toyota pink or red coolant. Or the halfords pink coolant is pretty much the same stuff, I've used that. Certainly do not mix that Preston coolant with Toyota pink or red if that's what's in your car now
  14. I haven't used Lexus since the timing belt change on my old 200. It's prob the only job I'd go to Lexus for now. You need to find yourself a competent local mechanic/garage. I promise you they exist. I've got a great one and he also drives an IS300 same as me so I guess I'm pretty lucky. Enjoy the test of your time in Spain :)
  15. It's absolutely nothing to do with the A/C on an IS200 or IS300. It's very very common. It's the heater matrix or trapped air in the cooling system. Sometimes flushing the heater matrix works, sometimes burping the cooling system of air works, sometimes you need to do both, sometimes you need a new heater matrix
  16. Yeah very common. If you had searched the forum you'd have seen multiple threads on this subject.
  17. What light is actually on? The handbrake light? looks sorta like this (!) on the bottom left of the dash? Only three reasons that light stays on 1. Handbrake is on (or switch is broken) 2. Rear brake bulb out including parcel shelf brake light 3. Low brake fluid Honestly 99 times out of 100 it's the rear parcel shelf brake bulb. Also if the wrong bulbs have been fitted the car thinks a bulb is out so light stay on. Your lumpy steering could be loose power steering belt, low or poor power steering fluid, dodgy power steering pump, or air in the power steering system.
  18. Merry Christmas :hohoho:
  19. The cleaning of the disc to remove the oil before fitting should have nothing to do with them being fitted by a non Lexus mechanic. All levels of mechanics should know this on all makes of car. Even I know to do this before I replace my brakes and I'm a chef! lol
  20. Google "Toyota noisy valve train" Apparently It's common in Toyota engines. My IS300 can be a bit noisy sometimes too so I wondered the same as you. It's never as loud as in that video tho. I can only hear the loud ticking with the bonnet up. As with yours everything on mine checked out ok
  21. Trans oil is cold, colder it is thicker it is. Try letting it warm up a little first. Sounds pretty normal to me. Sounds just like my IS300 until it warns up. I honestly don't think there is too much to be concerned about. If when the car is at normal operating temperature everything is ok, then I'd say it's ok lol. Now if it was struggling to select gear then you should be concerned. Could always change the ATF
  22. It's also symptoms of head gasket going... Again. Won't start cos hydro locked with coolant. Loads of white smoke because coolant burning off in the cylinders....
  23. It's exactly what you said in your first post. Non OEM filters don't have the return valve. Therefore on cold starts you may hear lifter chatter and the red oil pressure light may stay on for 3-5 seconds as the oil circulates. I've experimented with this on mine. Same engine as you, IS300, 2JZ-GE. With OEM filter, no chatter, no red oil light. Non OEM filter, 2-5 seconds of chatter and oil pressure light on start up
