    Correct you can't do the standard LSD test on an IS as it has a Torsen LSD. The only well to tell for sure if yours has a LSD is by the vin plate code. On the vin plate will be a long number letter sequence telling the paint code etc... Basically the last few numbers will finish with the letter A or B. B denotes LSD.

    It'll have nothing to do with the key fob mate. I bet it's the interior sensor if you have a new battery. You can lock the car up without arming the alarm. Lock all doors using the power lock button on the drivers side then get out and just lock the drivers door with the key. The car will be all locked up but the alarm will not be on :)

    Yeah common problem this. First thing to check is your battery, if it's on it's way out it will set the alarm off if the voltage drops. If the battery is fine then it's most likely gonna be the interior sensor. Lexus will sort this with a new sensor for about £100 or the sensor can just be disconnected but then you may have issues with your insurance etc...

    My old Nissan used to pop out of third and fifth now and then. Didn't think much of it and ignored it. Prob did it once or twice a week. Couple of months later the gearbox went and I couldn't engage any gears. Moral of the story is get it looked at!!

    Yeah OBC= on board computer. No it's not compulsory. I'm driving a brand new Suzuki at the moment (hire car) and its not got an OBC lol.... Is it me or did this thread go waaaaaay off topic?

    Ray came from a 5 series BMW. I have to admit compared to a 5 series the IS is lacking comfort and toys.

    No Stuart you don't. try enjoying driving with the A/C on full bast. Hit 5-6000rpm in 1st, 2nd and 3rd sometimes, you'll find it liberating. :lol:

    I'm no LPG expert mate, in fact I know sod all about LPG except its supposed to give you better mpg. If your only getting 20mpg that just doesn't sound right to me especially as you can get better mpg than that from a normal 300. The official figures for an IS300 from Lexus are 26.2 mpg combined so if it's gassed it should be higher shouldn't it?

    Haha he gets about the same as me 24-25 mpg. Stuart on here gets over 30 from his IS. I would have thought a gassed 300 would be nearer the 30 mpg mark.

    Don't know of any gear box specialists up there sorry but yeah I've driven a couple of 300's and don't remember them being hesitant at all. Maybe a 300 owner will know better. Only 20mpg on gas? Is it working properly? lol...My best mate drives a normal 300 and gets better mpg than that, a lot of the time he gets better mpg than me in my 200 but I do like the go faster pedal a lot!

    Hi and welcome. That's first IS300 I've heard of running LPG. What Ian said regarding the gearbox. What is the actual problem with the gearbox?

    No they don't light up mate. They show a light on the dash. TRC OFF and SNOW. How long have you had the car Pete?
