  1. I've had all 3 brake bulbs go at different points and it still didn't come on, always just the handbrake light
  2. I agree mate. I'd love one!! Out of my reach as well Pete :(
  3. Think Ians200 (LOC staff) was gonna organise a September meet. He has successfully organised our last two meets at plank and leggit and the heritage motor museum.
  4. Yeah spot on^ My P/S belt is tighter than the others :)
  5. I watched a documentary once where the mafia in USA drive round in Mercedes S class's with totally blacked out front windscreens.
  6. Prob coincidence it goes off when the mirrors are folded. Common problem with the alarm is the interior sensor goes bad.
  7. Are you sure the belt is the right tension mate? Mine squeeled awful just like you're describing. Quick tighten up and all has been well since. Over a year now. If you are 100% sure it's not a slack belt then what Mr. Rudus said sounds like good advice :) Power steering pump faults are very rare on this car. I've never heard of a power steering pump going on one of these and I read a lot of Lexus/IS200 forums.
  8. Not the first time I've heard of rear callipers seizing on a GS450h but I wouldn't say it was common. You could strip the calliper down yourself or get a local mechanic to do it. Clean the slide pins of dirt, corrosion and put them back together. Be a lot cheaper. I did this with my front callipers on my IS200 after they seized but it only lasted about 1000 miles and I had to do it again. Couldn't be bothered to keep doing this so in the end I just bought new callipers. What is it with Lexus and seizing callipers?
  9. Wheels look good mate, very similar to mine. I have to say tho..... Needs more LOW!! :)
  10. It's already been mentioned on the (other) Facebook IS200 group. Put it in the events section Stuart :)
  11. Wierd how the handbrake light stays on to tell you isn't it? There is a light on the dash to say a bulb is out yet it never comes on when there is actually a bulb out!
  12. Looks brilliant! Callipers are stunning in gold against those wheels. I also have a set of those Lexus stickers for the callipers. Was going to paint them silver but gold has got me thinking! :)
  13. That's why its now the least favourite mate. Nearly every other IS I see is platinum ice.
  14. Check your brake lights including the one in the parcel shelf. Most common cause of the handbrake light staying on is a bulb out.
  15. Yeah I've done that^ Easily done. Went to the car, unlocked it using the fob, didn't open any doors. Popped the boot also with fob, put the keys down in the boot with my stuff by mistake. Shut the boot and got distracted by something in my garden. Few seconds later I hear the clunk of the car locking itself! Lol! Luckily I have a spare and you really should get a spare too :)
  16. What Pete said^ And there's no 'head gasket issue' with the 1st gen IS You're thinking of the IS220D :)
  17. No Lexus won't do it. It's not a feature. It cant just be programmed into the car. Some re wiring is needed. You have to get it done by somebody who knows what they are doing
  18. Mine smokes when cold as Ian says but it's always white smoke and just condensation blowing off. Once the car is warm no visible smoke whatsoever even in winter.
  19. You need a full closure kit so when you lock it the mirrors fold in and any open windows close. Also open the mirrors when unlock and even remote start can be put on these. Bit of wiring involved. I'm looking at doing this. :)
  20. I've just looked at a pic of your car, yeah didn't realise you was on the S model 16"s with non low profile tyres. Guess that makes sense then :) Most people are running 17"s or 18"s with low profile tyres.
