  1. You can get pink coolant from halfords for cheaper. I was told by a Lexus tech at Lexus Bristol that the halfords stuff is just as good as theirs. I've had halfords coolant in mine for nearly 20,000 miles now, no issues. Next service I'll flush it again with halfords stuff :)
  2. And oh yeah forgot to mention the amp bypass cable..... Lots of info on that here too. :)
  3. Glad you reported them :) Just do a search on siezed callipers on this forum. Yes it's very very common. Mostly on the IS tho but other models too. I had both mine sieze up on the from of my IS200. It is the slide pins, they corrode. I tried to recondition mine. Lasted about 1000 miles. In the end I had 2 new callipers put on as I was fed up with it.
  4. Two very different cars and two very different stereos. Error 3 on an IS200 means its kaput, dead, game over. Hope it's not the same on an RX400h
  5. Error 3 means its Kaput mate, you won't be fixing that. Very very common. Most units end up with error 3 code when getting a bit older. Never heard of only being able to manually tune radio in but there you go. Best thing to do IMO is get a nice double din aftermarket stereo in there. Maybe a touch screen with sat nav? Yes the head unit is very easy to remove. Do a quick search on YouTube and there are many videos demonstrating how to remove it. Little piece of advice, tape up the centre console before removing, it scratches easily.
  6. Lexus sticky calliper strikes again! :( Did you ever challenge the first garage as to why they failed your car on ball joints when they were perfectly fine? I know I would have. Get your money back for the MOT! And I'd probably report them to VOSA. It's not acceptable that garages are using their MOT status to get more business by failing perfectly good cars on bogus faults and missing actual faults that would have failed it anyway.
  7. Hi welcome to LOC. :) Hope you enjoy owning a lex and get many miles of smiles My opinion, get that rad sorted ASAP. K seal is not a great solution..... I wouldn't put it in my car anyway
  8. Here you go a picture of Doc Martin to help recognition.doc martins.jpg  brilliant....
  9. I've actually seen these fitted to an IS here in the UK. Why are they illegal? They make your Lexus look like an Audi however with those stupid DRL fairy lights.....They should be illegal just for that!
  10. Where are you situated Tony? I did post a link earlier in the thread http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/
  11. Brilliant! Very very cheap. Is that just for the clutch?
  12. Genuine OEM clutches are about £250 from a main dealer plus about 2.5 hours fitting so it'll be about £400-£450 at a dealer. Exedy clutches have a good reputation on IS200 and are £170 from eBay. Fit it yourself if you have the tools and the skills or take it to a garage a they'll charge you a couple of hours labour. As for the flywheel all depends if it's been damaged. Your clutch does sound in a bad way so it could well be. I wouldn't touch it if it's ok tho... A new OEM dual mass flywheel is £900 part only. Suppose if you changed it the same time as the clutch then the labour charge wouldn't too much more but still looking at a hefty bill! :(
  13. I live in Bath and I made the trip over to WIM in Buckinghamshire because of their reputation.
  14. Mate have you never heard of Tony Bones aka the Doctor at WIM (Wheels in Motion)? http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/tyres-wheels-lexus.php It's pretty common knowledge across Lexus forums that the Lexus set up is flawed giving premature inner tyre wear. Tony went about correcting it. There are many many threads on this subject on the first generation IS on LOC
  15. Yeah as Billy says my refurb lasted about 1000 miles :( I took the even more expensive option and bought 2 new callipers from Lexus Bristol. £200 each, part only!! :(
  16. Doc Martin drives a Lexus and you watch the show because of this? Brilliant, true enthusiast :)
  17. ^Belt shouldn't squeel under any circumstances, heat or a fully loaded car!
  18. What do you mean you can't hear your exhaust? That's a good thing..... It's a Lexus after all!
  19. Hi. Only 1 place to go for laser alignment and steering geometry IMO. Wheels In Motion in Chesham Buckinghamshire http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/tyres-wheels-lexus.php
  20. Hi welcome to LOC.... We like pics :)
  21. Get some pics up mate! :) Congrats, keep it quiet but in my opinion I would prefer a GS to an LS
  22. Why have you resurrected a thread from 2008 flotsam? In fact, You've put the same comment on about 20 threads this morning and they're all old threads! Some might see that as spamming?
  23. Just read back through this thread. 19's will go on according to the above....
