  1. Very rare car mate, I don't know of an active member that has one.
  2. Yeah that's an old trick a lot of my mates did when younger also. Insurance companies tied that loop hole up a few years ago.... :(
  3. 5 a side football. IS owners (there's always more of us) vs every other model Lexus owner :)
  4. Ahhh London.... I remember not being able to get insurance on my 2.0 primera (heavily modified) when I lived there in 2001. I had to register the car, insurance and my licence to my mums house in Wales to be able to insure it!! Crazy really.....
  5. Yes, Lexus dealer. Not much in it buying parts only from a dealer. It'll literally be a few £ in it or just as cheap as a jap parts supplier or eBay. It's on labour the main dealers kill you and charge the earth.
  6. I can't believe they won't insure you just because of your age. There seems to be plenty of people your age and under driving IS's. Something your not telling us? Some convictions or frequent claims maybe?
  7. I'm with Esure mate but I wouldn't recommend them. They put my policy up by £100 for changing the alloys!! Same size, width etc as the standard Lexus 18"s but they're black and silver so obviously that makes my car go faster increasing the insurance premium I'll ask for you what company my mate is with.
  8. How ridiculous!!! I know quite a few owners of IS200's under the age of 23! Just shows once again that insurance company's know nothing about the car they are insuring! Do they think it's a fast car? Lol... Just use another company. I know a 21 year old who has his insured for £900 fully comp!! That's only £350 more than me and I'm 35 with 13 years no claims!!
  9. I've got a genuine TTE bumper on mine and that looks exactly the same as mine except for the little TTE badge in the middle.
  10. It'll be there, it;s nothing special though. :). It's a Lexus mate..... It's special ;)
  11. Sorry to report that my judder is back :( Only in the mornings it seems for the first couple of miles then it's gone all day.
  12. This thread should help :) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/637-basic-is-wheel-size-guide/
  13. They didn't change the speakers, should still have sub woofers in the rear speakers giving the heavy bass! Only the S spec model didn't have the subs, all SE and Sports did
  14. And yes, the vast majority of that huge £5-6000 bill is in labour charge....
  15. The reason it's so expensive is what Normski says. Can't fix the HG, needs a total head rebuild, sometimes on Toyotas with this same engine (Rav 4, avensis etc) they just throw the whole engine away and put a new one in. I know this cos I have a friend who's a Toyota mechanic at a main dealer. In his words, he throws "loads" of these engines away....
  16. I think the only way your gonna find out if it's a bulb problem or ballast or something else is to first buy a new bulb and see if it works. Hindsight is great but you should've swapped the bulbs over when 1 side was working and 1 side wasn't. Then you would have known for sure if it was a bulb or something else.
  17. Hi and welcome to LOC Any pics? We like pics... :)
  18. Hi and welcome. You need to get a diagnostic done. The car needs plugging into an obd2 fault code reader. Doing anything else at this point is pure guess work. You have to start there. Lexus charge about £50 for a diagnostic, local garages will be a bit cheaper. Alternatively you can buy your own code reader for about £20 from eBay
  19. Hi and welcome to LOC. :) Got a stunner there :zee:
  20. ahhhh right. I wouldn't bother, you'll just end up with 4 inner worn tyres instead of 2
