  1. Good on you :) I never buy 2nd hand tyres. Even budget brand new are better IMO
  2. Hi and welcome. This is where it should be before starting And this is where it should be when the engine is running. It shouldn't struggle to start. When was the last time the plugs were replaced?
  3. Hi and welcome. Have a read here :) http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/69388-what-problems-would-you-advise-others-when-buying-a-is200/?fromsearch=1
  4. Think Ganesh already mentioned that mate. I'm not, I'm coming up the M5, M42
  5. Just to say guys.... My car will be filthy dirty! Working solid up to and including Saturday, then Saturday evening I have to drive from Cardiff to Bath then Sunday morning Bath to Plank and Leggit! :
  6. Dont forget the Lexus meet on Sunday. Yes, brilliant idea. Bring it to the meet on Sunday :)
  7. Oh and Lexus quoted me £700 for a new clutch fitted!! What a difference!
  8. So I got a new clutch yesterday. Mine started slipping on Saturday morning quite badly. I wanted it changed as soon as possibly to avoid any damage to the flywheel as if that needed replacing it would have been goodbye Lexus :( This is the old clutch, how it was still working I don't know and how it hadn't slipped before Saturday is a mystery. It's worn right down to the rivets! I used Mr Clutch in Bristol, they quoted me £260 fitted for an Exedy clutch! An Exedy clutch is about £200 to buy on eBay plus I get a 20,000 mile/2 year warranty! Sounded too good to be true so I asked them to show me the clutch before they fitted it So the new clutch is on, still bedding in. Done about 60 miles on it so far. It's settling down all the time. It was a right pig when I first picked it up, biting point all over the place, lurching off from a standstill and juddering. The juddering has stopped now and the lurching. Biting point is still a bit random but it's getting smoother with every mile. All in all very happy that I didn't need a new DMF cos that would probably have written the car off... £1200 part only!! And glad its fixed before the plank and leggit meet on Sunday! :)
  9. New clutch fitted.... See you all Sunday :) I'm going the other way Ganesh, see you there!
  10. Do you get your car serviced at Lexus? Don't see what you've got to loose anyway, take them up on it :)
  11. Sounds like the fob battery. Not strange, it will just go. If its your only key then you can't get in it without setting the alarm off. Open it with the key. When you open the door the alarm will sound. Start the car and the alarm will go off after 10 seconds (feels a lot longer trust me) I also suggest you get a spare key. If you lose all keys it's just an absolute nightmare. You can't just get a new key for it, you always need an existing key to get a new one even from Lexus
  12. What car do you have? Do you have a relatively new car? I can imagine them doing this for somebody who has just spent tens of thousands of pounds on a new lex recently. I can't imagine them ringing me up and offering me that!
  13. You need this moved into the IS250 section mate to get some replies...You've posted it in the 1st generation IS200/300 section.
  14. Been looking forward to it Ian, really did t want to miss it. Can't wait to get my armrest :)
  15. Lol drunk moment Pete? ^ Car is booked in tomorrow for new clutch and full service so all being well I'll be there next Sunday :)
  16. Might not make it now.... Clutch just went in the car :( Praying the flywheel is ok
  17. I hated personalised plates..... Until I got 1 :) Guess its all down to deep seeded jealousy!!
  18. Oh and by the way, in Australia you can have absolutely anything put on your reg plate as long as it's not already taken. Not just new cars either, at any time you can change the reg :)
  19. I have a personalised plate, but I had to change mine as the last three letters spelled GAE. Got sick of people taking the p*ss! "here comes Chris and his gay Lexus" for example Plus just having 5 characters on the plate does look better ;)
  20. Yeah blue smoke burning oil. Some more investigation is required as to see how oil is being burned/consumed by the the engine. Valve stem seals would be my guess, but it's just that, a pure guess
  21. Yeah and I also noticed that the top gear magazine with clarckson and the LFA on the cover was all over the Lexus dealership just after that aired and the amount of tweets and Facebook updates Lexus put up declaring JC loves the LFA was crazy! Something tells me Lexus may have paid him to say those things
  22. Prob loose wire to the sensor.... Happened to my mate, drive him mad the light coming on and going off all the time!
