  1. And if what you say is true Noby why design top gear for illegal road speeds. The RHD model of this car was made for the UK market so they really messed up in my opinion.
  2. No not really Ganesh, I just remember it struggled at 65-70 in 6th. And Noby if you buy a car with 6 gears you expect to be able to use 6 gears. Nowhere does it mention 6th being any kind of "special gear" or "overdrive" gear. It's just poor gear ratio design from Lexus/Toyota
  3. 5th Ganesh.... I drove one from Swansea to Heathrow once, never used 6th lol
  4. If it's a 220d then yeah it's normal. Silly gear ratios on that car..... What were Toyota/Lexus thinking? Silly silly Toyota!!
  5. Think I've said it a few times now mate but congratulations :) :)
  6. Pete was only giving his opinion Istanbul..... Of which he is entitled, Now it looks like we've lost a member :(
  7. 337 mile round trip!! Admittedly 110 or so more than it should've been due to the M42 being closed and then the diversion also being closed due to an accident.... And then I got very lost
  8. Yes I understand that, I mentioned the dealer because a lot of people think dealer when they hear OEM and I was just stressing to the OP don't use the dealer as it'll cost. apologies for confusion if I caused any. Your screen is the screen autoglass would've fitted anyway except yours now has a Lexus stamp :)
  9. Chill, nobody is looking for an argument fella. No, nobody said Lexus made glass but you saying to ask for "OEM" one implied that Lexus did. I was just making the point that a screen from Lexus is exactly the same as a screen from autoglass or the AA except for a little stamp that says Lexus....and also if you go to a dealer and ask them to fit a windscreen they'll charge you more and just get autoglass or the AA to do it..... After it's had its Lexus stamp of course. So I don't understand how an "OEM" screen, whatever you class that as, is better than any other screen from any other professional glass fitting company. That's all I was trying to say, there's no point going to a dealer that's all. If a Lexus stamp means that much to you then yeah ask the glass fitting company you use to get a Lexus stamped one. As for avoiding further problems, these arise from poorly fitted glass, not inferior quality windscreens.
  10. Right... My car is in an awful state and I've still got to do 100 miles tonight and about 120 miles tomorrow morning. I think we should have a prize for dirtiest car
  11. Yeah last winter mine started to struggle to start. I didn't do anything then I got a flat battery. I think the battery I took out was the original lol.... Can't hurt to change the battery mate :)
  12. Yes mate the vid will apply. Apart from a few little changes cosmetically the 1st gen IS is the same car 99-2005
  13. Yeah simple mate. Loads of info on this. Just do a search. You will need an amp bypass cable if it's a SE or Sport. Again lots of info on this and the cables a readily available on eBay
  14. Also Lexus won't fit glass. If they do it for you they just get a glass fitter in such as autoglass
  15. No such thing as an OEM screen mate. Matt-C should come in on this thread, he's a professional glass fitter. All glass is made in the same place. The only difference between a screen supplied by say autoglass or the AA and that supplied by a dealer is a stamp that says Lexus. Lexus don't make glass, they get it from the same place as autoglass
  16. As for the radio sounds like the antenna isn't connected at the back, or, like mine was the actual Ariel was snapped and the previous owner had superglued it back together lol
  17. Bad news.... Error 3 means it Kaput. Sorry but it's not fixable. Best get a nice aftermarket unit in there. It's double din after all so a nice touch screen with DVD and sat nav maybe? :)
  18. Yep can't hurt to change the plugs. I run NGK iridium. The plugs must be iridium!! Denso SK20's are OEM
  19. So if your front wheels are hitting the suspension then you've got the rears on the front?
  20. I've read a few horror stories where a poorly fitted screen has resulted in water getting into the fusebox in the footwell and playing havoc with the electrics :( Do a search on the forum and you'll see what I mean.
  21. I like karting, bowling etc.... Paint balling is amazing fun but it really really hurts and I ached for days afterwards and was covered in bruises!!
  22. The sportcross came with a staggered set up regarding the wheels. The rear wheels are wider than the front
  23. No that's incorrect mate. Pre march 2001 £235 per yearAfter March 2001 £280 per year
