  1. Yes mate but I'm not really bothered about that right now. Knowing what is causing it is my primary concern. I was just hoping somebody had the same problem with a recurring sensor code and it was maybe a known fault but yeah I'll get a new sensor under warranty if I have to I'm just not convinced the sensor is bad. Now this is interesting.... On Thursday I checked the coolant as I could hear a rushing water sound behind the dashboard when I started the car and went around corners, there wasn't any! Expansion tank completely dry! So I filled the system with pink coolant and burped it by running it for Half an hour with the radiator cap open. There were loads of air bubbles! I also checked all other fluids and they were fine. So after doing this I re set the eml codes as the light had come on yet again, same code on the way to work, had it twice in 2 days by now. It's now Saturday night, I've done 128 miles and the light has not come back on. I plugged the code reader in to see if it had stored a code without triggering the eml, nothing, no error codes. It'll prob come back on tomorrow now that I've wrote this
  2. Yeah got a 300. I'll put pics up a bit later :) It's in good condition, 70k, FSH all Lexus except the last. This other garage also changed the sensor so i'm not ruling out they've damaged wires etc..... Previous owner says he replaced this sensor last January, 6000 miles ago with a denso OEM after he had the exact same code. I have the receipts to prove what he says his true. Very annoying on what otherwise seems a good car. Passed the mot last Saturday, no advisories. So it went through emissions ok.
  3. Hi guys. My IS300 is giving the code P0156 O2 sensor, Bank 2 Sensor 2 This is the sensor after the CAT right? Also this sensor was changed just 11 months ago. New sensor gone bad already or something else causing the sensor to go bad? Many thanks
  4. Also you can't buy them new anymore from Lexus or Toyota or anywhere. I had the same problem as you and had to go out and buy a new set of wheels
  5. Which 18"s are they mate. The 6 spoke aeros? They're rare mate and command a bit of a price. I have 5 but they all need work....
  6. Very nice, I like these a lot :) Always been put off with the horror stories I've read of the engine being a bit blowy uppy lol
  7. So it was failing the emissions test? That would indicate burning oil rather than coolant wouldn't it as coolant will just steam off? Also you could be losing coolant from various sources such as the radiator, pipes or water pump. Is the car maintained and serviced regularly and what mileage is it on? I just find it hard to believe it's the HG that's the issue
  8. Jusy inspect the flywheel mate. Should be no or minimum pitting, scoring or blue heat marks
  9. Good job :) Who nicked the Lexus dust caps? When you sent the wheels away? If so I'd be playing hell....
  10. Yeah what Steve said. Head gasket failures on these engines are very few and far between. In fact I don't re call ever hearing if one fail So how did they come to this conclusion and what are your symptoms then? Head gaskets are either in place or gone, as in the gasket is either doing it's job and keeping the oil and coolant apart or it's not and they're mixing! I'm sure they didn't take the head apart and examine the gasket during an mot
  11. Hi Heather. :) Wish Ian a speedy recovery and all the best. Chris
  12. The only ill effect I've seen of using it is that it can get stuck in that position so even when you turn snow mode off it's actually still on lol
  13. All the snow mode does is change the angle of the throttle butterfly, that's it. It's has absolutely no effect on the gearbox, clutch or Traction control
  14. Hi and welcome to LOC. Photos please, very interested in this :)
  15. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/85402-website-downtime-and-loss-of-some-data/#entry845413 Read here. It's not just the LS400 forum either it's the whole LOC site.
  16. Sheffield? I'll surely win furthest travelled for that..... Again! ;)
  17. I have 18's yes, 2 sets actually. The car is smooth and refined on both. The reason people go back to 16's in the snow is because they are smaller. Smaller tyres and thinner tyres are better in the snow and ice that fat wide tyres :)
  18. Oh and Ian fitting my armrest.... Nice one mate, love it :) :)
  19. Here's a few of mine. Number plates are not blacked out so apologies if this bothers you. Just pm me and I'll delete the pics in question. Honestly tho I don't see the point, your number plate is on display 24/7 on your car lol. Anyway had a great day. Good to meet new people and to catch up with the old faces :)
  20. If you're gonna upgrade wheels get 18's..... Really sets the car off. Doesn't ruin the ride as some would suggest. :)
  21. I get what you're saying Noby but my IS will go into 6th and pull at as low as 35-40mph... I still think it's a poor gear ratio design :)
