  1. Yes it's the 02 sensor. The cars even trying to tell you this with the fault code. It's goosed needs changing.

Your car is shuddering because the 02 sensor regulates the air/fuel ratio into the engine. Now if the 02 sensor is broke, it can't adjust air fuel ratio correctly so your car will judder it's either getting not enough fuel or too much or not enough air or too much.

  2. Have you changed those parts without retrieving the fault codes by plugging it into an obd2 code reader or getting a garage to run a diagnostics? get the fault codes it'll tell you what the problem is or the area where the problem is.

  3. Don't just leave it. The balljoint has been advised and if you leave it, it can fail and when it fails your wheel will come off and rip your wing off and dependant on the speed at which the ball joint fails you could very well die.

Now these are not expensive parts and I don't know why you're having trouble.

Genuine balljoint from dealer £55-70. Fitted at any garage (£30-60 labour) it takes 20-30 minutes to change a balljoint.

Wheel bearing. About £120 for the bearing. Needs to be pressed in so you may have to pay an hours labour.

Basically my local garage would do this work for around £300-£350 all in.

  4. Ok. When the eml comes on you need to plug it into a obd2 fault code reader. This will give you the fault code which you then reference to the list below directing you to the fault. There are many possibilities.

  5. If the nozzles are blocked you'd still hear the pump working, that's why I said fuse or pump is knackered as it makes no noise.

No idea where the fuse is sorry.

And yeah great shout Steve. That pipe comes off sometimes but if it's leaking into your passenger footwell that's 100% heater core related

  6. The guy was violent at work to a fellow employee.

If any of you or indeed I behaved like this at our place of employment we too would be fired!

BBC had no choice, they had to fire him, and although I will miss top gear he really had to go.

By the way, James Mays twitter already says "former TV presenter"

  7. Is the tensioner just chewing the belt and you've caught it before it broke or did the belt come off the tensioner but is still in one piece? What happened exactly? Did the car become un driveable.

If the cambelt failed or came off then yeah you've probably bent valves. I've got 2 friends who have suffered cambelt failures...It's generally regarded easier to change the whole engine rather than rebuild the head or get a new head as a full engine can be bought in good condition with low miles for about £300 and swapping like for like is straight forward. One mate even did it on his driveway hiring an engine crane for the day.
