  1. Not the front light no mate, only the middle interior light comes on when set to 'door'
  2. £28 must be one of the cheapest MOT's in the country!! I pay £54 for mine which is the VOSA recommended price.
  3. Here you go, I posted this on another thread. I've got this touchscreen head unit in my 300, but they're about £500 so depends on how much you're looking to spend. It's a kenwood DNX5220BT. It basically does everything you could ever want. Radio, SAT NAV, phone, DVD + CD player, TV, I pod/iPhone connection either Bluetooth or charger cable which charges. USB connection. It remembers your phone so connects via Bluetooth instantly. Everything on your phone is accessible via the head unit. Contacts, SMS, music, videos. It's not voice activated but your contact list comes up on the screen and you can save 6 quick dial numbers so it's just one button press to call on the head unit. It's fantastic to be honest. :)

  5. You can piggy back it but it's pointless unless you have a charger or turbo.
  6. Yeah it's been parked for nearly 4 months mate. Expansion tank had evaporated. Since sorting the coolant out it hasn't lost a drop so doesn't look like a leak. It's still say on MAX. Strange because I had the exact same coolant prob with the 200 when I bought it. That had been sat a few months also and had no coolant in the expansion tank, but I noticed that straight away and topped it up. Seems to be a common feature on the IS that the coolant evaporates! Dean (Dinho) had a dry expansion tank at the Gaydon meet earlier this, and also Pete (petayV8) had the same prob with his too. I've also read a lot of threads on here and other forums about low coolant in these cars!
  7. Very wierd mate, never had that!! I've got the opposite problem on the 300. The steering is heavier than on my 200 but I don't know if that's normal?
  8. If the suspect calliper wheel is hotter than the others then I'd say it was sticking. Jack the car up and try to spin the wheels by hand. Should spin freely, if stuck or grinding then calliper! You could try to refurbish them. Take them apart, clean the slide pins, they'll be coated in rust and ******* causing them not to slide freely. Cleaning them up can fix it if they're not too bad. Mine were absolutely knackered tho and I needed new ones. £240 each for genuine from Lexus. That's £350 each fitted!! :(
  9. Or could be wheel bearing but you said you smelt brakes so that would be the first place I'd look :)
  10. Sounds like classic siezed calliper symptoms....most common problem on this car I'd say.... Do a search on siezed callipers mate, I don't think there's an IS200 that hasn't suffered a siezed calliper or 2!
  11. Ahh now see I've read differently. I've done a hell of a lot of research on this lol.... They do affect fuelling just not as much as the sensors before the cat. If this sensor detects too much oxygen in the exhaust gases it'll tell the ecu to dump more fuel in and if it detects too much un burnt fuel in the exhaust it'll tell the ecu to put less fuel in. The eml still hasn't illuminated and I'm up to 200 miles now since it last came on and yet again no fault codes stored. My theory is this :- no/low coolant so no temp(can't measure air temp in coolant area), so it thinks the engine cold so over fuels, causing the car to run rich, the O2 sensor picks this up and throws the code. Or the exhaust gasses were so hot as the car had no coolant that it overheated the sensor causing the code?? Guess it's a waiting game for a bit to see if the light cones back on. It just seems very strange to me that it was going off every 10-20 miles but since I did the coolant it's been good for 200!
  12. Maybe? That's not a for certain either. If you're making a claim on the warranty against the alloys because they're corroding or bent etc....then yes I'm sure Lexus will give you a car and you'll have nothing to pay if the claim is upheld by Lexus UK. If you just want them re furbed to look shinier then there's no guarantee they'll give you a car etc...and they'll charge an obscene price I'm sure. They may even just offer to put a set of wheels on your car temporary while yours are being Refurbed. That's what Jaguar offered my dad when he wanted his done.
  13. No agreed it shouldn't. Should be heat proof. That's why I think if you go to Lexus they'll probably repaint it for you :)
  14. Lexus won't refurb your wheels. I mean they will, but they'll just give them to a refurb company to do for them and charge you even more. I know Lexus Bristol use a company called pristine Alloys. Cut out the middle man (Lexus) and go straight to the company.
  15. I don't think you're gonna get a new calliper because a bit of paint came off. Best to hope for is that they repaint it for you. Just because some paint came off they're not gonna replace a perfectly working calliper. Also as you say they're Brembo's and is expect a genuine one to be around the £4-500 mark

  17. Thanks Noreen :) My favourite thing is the stereo system that's in the car. It's touch screen DVD/TV player, Sat Nav, and all connects to my iPhone via Bluetooth the second I sit in the car and my phone including the music then becomes controllable from the head unit screen and phone calls come through the speakers and even the contacts name and pic I have on the phone displays on the head unit screen. Oh and it's got a Lexus screensaver so it looks OEM.... Love it!! Really decent piece of kit :) :)
  18. Old car went as is Matt and has been sold. Couldn't be bothered with all that plus the TTE bumpers I had didn't have the headlight washer jet holes and I need them on the 300 as I have HID's. I didn't really like the interior either but after doing a few hundred miles in it it's really growing on me and is very clean for the cream interior. Also I have to say the seats are far far more comfy than the 200 and the car overall just feels better like it really is in a different league. It's so much smoother and quieter than the 200 :) :) No Ian, these Aeros came on the car, still got my old ones too so now I have 9 aero wheels! Thanks Barney, yeah I'll get to the bottom if the sensor problem. No doubt ;)
  19. I don't know what you mean by night breaker... Is that just a marketing name. The car as standard takes hb4 bulbs, pop out, pop in. Really is that simple mate :)
  20. No you don't have to remove the headlights to change a bulb. You just pull them out of the back if the light. Twist and pull... Very very easy. The passenger side is fiddly if you have big hands because the ecu and windscreen washer fluid bottle are in the way. Even if you're fitting HID's there's no need to remove the actual light. Finding a place for the ballasts is your only problem
  21. So I bought this last week... 77k miles, FSH, passed MOT on Saturday with no advisories. Having a little issue with the car throwing an O2 sensor code every 20 miles.......see other thread Apart from that it seems a great car. Loving the extra power, it's quite addictive!
