  1. Yeah granted they don't sell as quick as they used to and they are coming down in price. They'll be going for £1000 or less soon
  2. My code reader also let's you select manufacturer but it doesn't detect ABS codes....
  3. Good advice^ that's what I would do. Does sound like you have a couple if faulty coils. Does the car actually mis fire? Or is it just the light and codes? I assume you used irridium spark plugs either denso or NGK. The car really doesn't like any other kind of plug even if they are irridium I've found.
  4. They are rare mate. They don't come up for sale very often and you need to be quick when one does. And make sure every single piece of the kit is there and you can't get parts separately and many have tried to have parts made for it and all have failed
  5. I haven't noticed Ganesh, I'll look next time for ya :)
  6. You need the TTE complete kit mate... That's charger, cradle, pulleys the whole shebang comes with the kit. You won't successfully charge this car getting all the bits together yourself. TTE charger kits used to sell for £2000 but they are coming down. I saw one for sake for £1500 not do long ago
  7. Which sensor did you change? And how did you know it was that one that you did change?
  8. Firstly the head unit is absolute quality in every way including sound quality and it is something to rave about Pete! ;) yes a faulty O2 sensor can cause poor mpg but not really when it's the sensor after the CAT that monitors emissions. The light is off at the moment anyway. Hasn't come back on in over a 1000 miles now. Hardly use m mode, always just stick it in D and go. No Stuart I sold my 200, only up for sale for a week and it went :) and no, no modifications now to this one, keeping it standard.
  9. Haha yeah I might change my user name. The fuel economy on the 300 is shocking stu, even for you mate!!
  10. Yes it is. Snap the cambelt and your looking at an engine rebuild or engine swap or scrap yard!
  11. The gear box whine is pretty normal mate. How bad a whine are we talking? A bad input shaft bearing will rattle not whine when the car is under load low down in the rev range, say under 2500rpm
  12. No worries mate. The 1 GFE engine is an old design from 1987/88 so it had to have vvti on it to bring it inline with modern emission levels.
  13. Hi. Yes, all manual IS200's have DMF and all IS200's are VVTI.
  14. If a cheapy obd2 code reader won't retrieve the code them it's prob throwing a manufacturer specific code.some garages can read these and obv Toyota and Lexus can. My money is on an ABS sensor mate. The trc is flashing to tell you that you have no trc. And you have no ABS at the minute while the ABS light is on. Or there's water in the electrics setting off your dash lights, seen that a few times but it's rare. Does sound more like an ABS sensor.
  15. At 8.5j and 18" I'd suggest 225/40/18. On my old 200 I had those size wheels and those size tyres and no arch work was needed. Higher profile or wider tyre and I think arch work would've been needed
  16. They are 114.3 and 8.5 wide they'll bolt straight on mate.
  17. As Dave says just check they're 114.3. A lot of Japanese wheels are. I know a few people that have GS wheels on an IS :)
  18. Oh and the economy.... It's ridiculous. I always thought the 200 and 300 were similar, but no. Even driving like a complete grandad I can't match the 200 on my commute. Was getting 350 miles to the tank driving steady in the 200, pushed 400 miles a couple of times. So far I've got 230 miles until the light came on from the first tank, ok I used the extra power a lot so I figured that accounted for it. Then 270 and that was really trying. Then I stopped counting, I thought that was best! I know I'm visiting esso more frequently that's for sure but I'm not going to moan. I knew I was buying a 3 litre car :)
  19. Thanks mate. Yep that's the reason I love the head unit as well. OEM looking :) The lights around the buttons can be changed to a number of different colours but amber blends in with the rest of the dash. Car was £2250. Head unit alone is worth £500. I was looking at similar mileage 300's with full service history and they were priced £2.5k-£4k, with a few £5k dreamers!! So I think I got a good deal. You can get a 300 for £1.5k if you don't mind a high miler with patchy or no service history that's not in the best condition etc. My insurance increased by £34 a year. To be fair I thought it would have been more.
  20. Tell them it's got a 4.0 V8 lump and then watch their attitude change ;)
  21. Nice one mate :) You can put LED in the middle light which will make a massive difference. I did have one in there but I took it out and put it in the 300! Lol
  22. Technically you still pay the fine, as you have to pay £60 to attend. I was more than happy to be offered this course as it saved me getting 3 points on my licence. I also found the course to be interesting. The man running it made it informative and a bit of fun, plus as much free tea, coffee and biscuits as you wanted Just to add I also think name calling is out of order in any shape or form. It's meant to be one if the rules if the forum... No personal insults, name calling etc... Anyway peace people :) And good luck Stuno. Hope you get the outcome you're looking for.
  23. Not that I know of otherwise I'd put a link up to a thread mate.
  24. TTE bumpers before 01 didn't have the washer jets, after 02 they did. You've got all the wiring there Dave, I already looked. You need a switch and then the actual jets and then you need somebody you trust or a body shop to cut the holes in the bumper
