  1. That's brilliant news and so so lucky!! Car gods were smiling on you
  2. Fair enough, I inderstand that you want your ISF looking perfect, I would as well if I had one! :)
  3. If it's just paint coming from callipers can't you just do it yourself? It's easy... Good going over with a wire brush, high heat calliper paint, job done. :) If you want Lexus de cals for them they're all over eBay, just an idea as I can't believe Lexus want to replace 4 callipers just because a bit of paint came off!
  4. So they are not fitting the prins system that doesn't burn up the valves? Did you ask them about IS200 having previous for being killed by LPG? I'd still be asking questions mate and I'd still be dubious. Not looking for argument from the LPG lovers, I agree if it works on your car (such as the LS400 where it's proven to work faultlessly) then it's great, but I'd still be a little cautious. You never hear of LPG going wrong on the LS but there's even a member on this thread that had his IS ruined by LPG. Honestly nothing against LPG, my concern is purely for Stuart and his beloved Zorro! :)
  5. Hi and welcome to LOC :) As Pete says, a great find on an 05 plate! Not many would have ordered the aero kit etc that year as most would have bought the LE I'd imagine. Anyway enjoy the car.... And we like pics :)
  6. Ahh don't get me wrong^ nothing wrong with a high miler if it's been maintained well. I was just surprised that a car that looks as good as that has done 198,000 miles :)
  7. No, no joke Pete. That is seriously high. Yeah I've seen a couple up there but normally they look like they're ready for the scrappy
  8. Looks like I've got a challenger to my furthest travelled title
  9. 198,000 miles!!!! Jeeeez that's one of the highest mileages I've heard of!
  10. It's a completely different gearbox I believe.
  11. Where's the rest of your belt?? It should be covering the whole pulley!! Not seen one that thin before!! Defiantly a timing issue I would say....
  12. Nope....manual on the 300 in US is 5 gears not 6 and it's a hell of a lot better than the 200's gearbox apparently. In my opinion the manual transmission lets the 200 down. It's clunky and notchy and since changing to an auto 300 I've noticed such a difference :)
  13. http://my.is/forums/f115/p1346-p1349-p0300-need-help-troubleshooting-solved-418259/ This thread might help....... That code is pointing to vvti oil control valve. The guy in the thread I linked replaced that and his fired straight up. Hope you sort it.
  14. Hi and welcome. Looks identical to my old IS200 when I bought it.... Miss that car lol Enjoy, and watch those aero wheels on pot holes etc....they're made of butter!
  15. Hi and welcome to LOC :) Beautiful looking lex :zee: Cambelt is a dealer only job for me but that's just me
  16. I'm also a fair weather golfer! What's your handicap? Mines playing golf Nah 16 on a good day :) And I've also been to highbury (4 times) and the emirates just the once. You're having a much better season than us pal
  17. My main interest aside from cars is football. Yes I know stereotypical working class bloke! I'm a die hard Manchester United fan and have been since going to my first game at Old Trafford in 1985! I held a season ticket in the Stretford End between 1997-2010 but sadly had to give it up due to work commitments and the fact I now live 270 miles from Old Trafford but I still try to get up there as many home games as I can. Following my team has also led me to being lucky enough to visit some of the most famous football stadia in the world such as the Bernabau is Madrid (we lost both times ) new and old wembley and of course the Camp Nou on a very special night in May against the Germans in 1999! :) :) Apart from football and cars I enjoy golf, swimming, pool and darts! Oh and I also collect branded pint/beer glasses, I have about 200 from all over the world.
  18. I knew that would fix it after I read that you put a R10 bulb on there That's about a £1 to us guys! You can't go cheapy on the lex! Glad it's all sorted :)
  19. This is what I'd put my 300 up for if I was selling and happily take £2.5k. The 300 holds it's value just a little better than the 200 it seems. I think if you're patient you'll get £3k for yours.
  20. All I meant was if you buy a well maintained one with good history and evidence of problems being fixed as they arose then you lessen the risk of getting problems. Buying a used car is always a risk of course. But the IS isn't free of it's common proms such as sticky callipers, lower ball joints, leaky boots just to a name a few but JP hasn't suffered with these probs as he bought a well maintained car. That's what I was trying to say :)
