  1. Ahhh never noticed the amber cos he's tinted his head lights. I never mentioned that as that was never a standard option. Yeah agreed they look better on the 300 at night but I don't like them in the day. Just my preference :)
  2. No it doesn't sorry. My mate has a platinum ice IS300 with the TTE kit and Aero alloys on it.... I have a platinum ice IS200 with TTE kit and Aero alloys.... Park them next to each other and you wouldn't know which was the 300 and which was the 200. The only 2 things we've found different is his fog lights have yellow glass, mine are clear. And his says IS300 on the back and mine says IS200.
  3. Mine revved high at idle when I first got it. Same as yours. I took it to Lexus on the 3rd day of ownership for a full service. When I picked it up it no longer revved high at idle, I just assumed that the service sorted it but they may have adjusted it or done something else? I don't know. No extra on the bill tho. Mine and my wife's 200SE both rev at 1500 rpm on start up then when warm at about 500-700 I would say. They both take no more than 5 mins to be up to optimum temperature. (Driving that is)
  4. A pic of the TRD kit is on there as well :) I prefer the TTE kit but I would say that as I have one :)
  5. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=78474#entry786468 I'm on my phone so can't upload a pic at the moment. There's a good photo of the TTE kitted IS on the link above. It looks exactly like mine lol :)
  6. either that or could mine have been nicked or swaped at some point its had 5 owners. Maybe.... It's just every sport I looked at when buying had them. They may have been an optional extra. :) Mine are almost black now, well the accelerator anyway after 11 years, look a bit tatty but as nobody ever sees them I've just forgotten about them to be honest!
  7. The Disc can be warped so slightly that you can't tell by looking. I've had this problem on a few cars over the years.
  8. Yeah I realised the 18" wheels never came as standard after I wrote it but I thought all sports came with the drilled alloy pedals. I stand corrected :)
  9. Valid points but I think there's more chance of getting a ski holiday in hell than Lexus bringing out a diesel again. Glad to hear you like yours and I don't think their bad cars as such, just have more issues than any other Lexus ever produced. As you say I think Lexus are putting all their effort into Hybrid technology now as they must see that as the future.
  10. Tell you what mate did u say your in Manchester? I'm up in Manchester at least twice a month cos I'm a United season ticket holder. I come originally from Prestwich where most if my family still live! At this rate it might be worth coming up a day early, staying with family and getting you to do the car! :)
  11. Yeah exactly mate, I was furious! Im glad the wife was with me or I seriously think I would have landed one on him, broken arm or not, cos he was a complete tw#t about it as well. I hadn't been that angry for years!! And no there will not be a next time. But this is my point entirely, at least at the independent garage mentioned earlier I know when I return I will not pay a penny more than quoted even if it is £300. There may be some things they pick up on and tell me about but no hidden charges and certainly no work carried out without my authorisation. Finding a cheap honest garage is so difficult! Thanks for the guide fella I'll take a look and see if I can't sort it out myself! :)
  12. part no is F-1907,, but looking at its no genuine im thinking,, If its genuine it'll have a Toyota badge on the box and say in big red letters "genuine Toyota part" Oil filter I got from Lexus did anyway :)
  13. Oh and fil4362 does your garage add on nasty hidden costs such as disposable charge and "sundries" such as grease? I got that Chippenham garage to do my back brake pads and discs as I had a broken arm at the time so couldn't do it myself. Oil, oil filter and brakes being the only jobs I can do myself. They charged £55 per hour but when we picked the car up they had added on £20 to dispose of the old parts and £20 sundries which when questioned were told it was for the copper grease! so total cost with me supplying the parts was £150!
  14. Just did the A/C bomb on both IS200's. Mine is perfect again :) but it's done hardly anything for my wife's car, it still stinks. Mission for next week then is to find a local garage that are less than £200 for a full service and to find an A/C service for under £100. I don't think it's going to be very easy! I live just outside bath on the Wiltshire/Somerset border and trust me, everything is expensive around here! The cheapest labour cost I've found is a garage in Chippenham who are £55 per hour. Every garage in Bath I've rang are £70+ with one even charging £95 per hour and their justification is that it's still cheaper than a main dealer!
  15. Timing belt is every 60k according to the handbook and auxiliary belts too. The timing belt on my wife's IS was done at Lexus Bristol on 107k as it has the stamp on the engine cover. So yes £300 is steep for a service. I'm not going to name the garage but it's a very popular Lexus independent in NW London. I was put onto them by this forum. I only got them to quote me for the A/C as I thought just get it all done in 1 go. These prices you speak of, I can't find anybody quoting me under £130 for a full A/C service or less than £250 for a full service. So I'd like to know where these cheap and honest garages are because I can't find them!
  16. I had this problem but not on a diesel mate. It was on my IS200. The car kept running on after switching off the engine. Leaky injector was the culprit. I put a second hand one on, been fine ever since :)
  17. The difference is:- Lower suspension 18" alloys Limited slipp diff Tinted back windows and rear windscreen Alloy sport pedals Two tone leather steering wheel Some come with a TTE or TRD factory fitted styling kit which both looks the nuts The front grill on the sport even the ones without the kit is smaller making the car look more aggressive. I think it's worth getting a sport, for me these extras make a difference. Standard IS200 SE that my wife drives doesn't look anywhere near the car I drive and their the same year 2001.
  18. Thanks Colin. Going to get 2 of these, 1 for the wife's car and 1 for my IS as well. Mine doesn't smell too bad bad but I get a fungus whiff every now and then
  19. What's this air con bomb? Never heard of it before! The £200 quoted was from the same Lexus independent that I get it serviced at. I thought it was a bit steep. There's a mobile guy that I found will do it for £140+ VAT. It really does need some attention, it absolutely stinks when you turn it on or even just have the normal fans blowing!
  20. Silly question, but they weren't a set of anthracite 18's by any chance were they?? No he's got the common 11 spoke 17's. Why? Do you sell remoulds? Lol..
  21. Yeah that's what I thought guys thanks. Was thinking about putting a set on the wifes IS but if I did that and she had a blowout and was seriously injured or worse I'd never forgive myself!
  22. My wife's whines and clunks from first to second. Never been a problem. You get used to it and don't hear it after a while! Normal I think. And yeah your transmission fluid should be red :)
  23. Haha :) brilliant! Your wife's fit mate.... I would!! Lol.. ;)
