  1. Sounds like the sticking brake calliper strikes again!!! Soooo common it's really not funny. :(
  2. Your steering wheel is on the wrong side! Lol... :) Nice motor mate... Doesn't sound like a diesel!
  3. Steve's 100% right! For some reason I thought you were over the 110miles? Must've got confused with another thread. Yeah if your Car is under 7 years old and under 110k miles then Lexus should pay the bill in its entirety! However if you don't have a Full Lexus Service History all stamped up at the correct intervals then that's a bit of a loop hole for them! :(
  4. Yea mate totally understand. Just ring them up, they 'll give u the settings ( for a minimal fee) and then take them to a place near you that has the equipment. Everybody's happy then :)
  5. Don't take this the wrong way but if anybody does have the set up please don't post it on the forum. Tony at WIM obviously put a lot of time, effort and money into getting the best set up for the IS200 and he's done what Lexus wouldn't. So the least we can do is actually pay him for his hard work. His set up has saved IS200 owners £100's in tyres
  6. Hi Matt. So seeing you do this prompted me to get on EBay and buy a HID kit myself. It's on route and as I'm rubbish with anything electronic my mate is fitting it for me. He did it on his IS200 a few years ago before he sold it. Now when I asked him to do it he told me that I'll have to switch the lights back to halogen for the MOT as non factory HID and Xenons are a fail. Do you know anything about this? Is he correct? Seems a stupid rule to me as a lot of cars come from the factory with these lights so why are they a fail if I fit them myself? I can't wait to get mine fitted tho, they make all the difference :) Cheers Chris
  7. You need the WIM setup. They'll give it to you over the phone (for a price I'd imagine) then get somebody up your way to follow their instructions. there's a local garage near me that did it for me. They Got all the info from WIM in Milton Keynes then applied it to my car :) Lexus know their geometry settings for the 1st gen IS are wrong and causes uneven tyre wear but they will not admit it. Or they say their settings give a more comfortable ride!
  8. Like I said fella, if it's still working fine even with a leak then it's a pass with advisory :)
  9. Happened to me a couple of times. Could not get on via my iPhone for nearly 24hrs...
  10. I've seen bigger bills on this forum for cars under warranty for your problem so I think they are genuinely trying to help you out. Not charging for the diagnostic and giving you a CT courtesy car is a nice touch as is dropping their labour charge Bristol Lexus also did this for me when I was facing a £1500 bill on my IS200. Brought my bill down to £920. I really don't think your getting screwed and Lexus dealership is the best place to have this repair carried out in my opinion.
  11. Sounds like a leak in your system or air trapped or it's not been bled properly. Is it losing fluid?
  12. Sounds like it got sprayed by a gritter lorry! I've found Lexus paint to be very soft! Mine is also covered in stone chips :(
  13. Yeah that's what I was trying to say, I just didn't realise that some IS came with 2 button master keys that's why I thought it was a valet key :)
  14. I live in Wiltshire and I see a blue SC430 most mornings on my way to work. Older fella driving it about 56-60 I reckon! It's in mint condition. Its a good looking car. I always thought they were slow, did not realise they had a 4.3 V8!!
  15. A leaky shock shouldn't be a fail as long as its still working. I've was advised 3 years running on my old Honda that all 4 were leaky. They still did the job and didn't deteriorate over 3 years so I wouldn't be overly concerned :)
  16. Mine sits between 500-750 when warm. Just had a major service at Lexus so this is normal :)
  17. Advert alert!! Lol.... Well I ordered a spare key for my IS last week and I went to Lexus Bristol today to pick it up. They coded it for me, £35 for the coding and £133 for the key!! I asked the guy sat in my car coding my key if he could clone a key from a valet key if it was programmed to the car as we still don't have a spare for my wife's IS. His answer was categorically NO! You need a master key. I'm sure this fella above "the Keyman" can get around it as others I'm sure have done to but Lexus won't do you a spare key unless you have the master. I also asked about 2 and 3 buttons. Lexus guy said 90% of IS's came with 3 buttoned masters but some did come with 2 button masters, normally earlier models on V, W and X reg :)
  18. Very very unlikely as brake problems don't trigger the check engine light to come on
  19. You'll get a cracker for £7k if your patient and don't rush in. See plenty of examples before you purchase. I'd get a 250 SE-L if it were me. You might even be able to get one with the multimedia package for £7k but it'll prob have a slighty higher mileage... Say 70k+ A work colleague bought a 250 SE-L MM on a 56 plate for £8995 but it only had 38k on the clock and full Lexus service history and a detailed list of recall work that had been carried out including 2 brand new rear brake callipers (these a prone to sticking) and a brand new set of shiny alloys! And it was from a Lexus dealer so he got a 12 month warranty with it. That was 6 months ago and he loves it, doesn't shut up about it! Lol.... Oh and he's had absolutely 0 problems with it. My IS is a first generation, 11 years old and I've had it for 8 months. It's given me 1 problem, sticking brake calliper (seems to be a trait with Lexus) Lexus are amazingly reliable cars if maintained and serviced correctly :)
  20. I think the key system might be different on left hand drive models maybe as your in Denmark? Here's just 1 of many threads confirming here in the UK 3 buttoned are usually the masters. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=67167
  21. This is the info I have been given by Lexus Swindon after I couldn't believe that I couldn't just order a spare key! It amazed me also but that's what I'm told. The first thing the parts desk ask you when you call to order a new key is and I quote "do you have the 3 button master key"
  22. Sports cross had 2 button master keys. 3rd button is to open the boot on the saloon. Sports cross didn't have this. Guess its down to the size of the boot door.
